Fallen in a hole when it really mattered

Shame really, weathered the early storm, put himself in the box seat, then seemed to lose focus and drive.

Chisnall would have been unlucky to lose, to be fair.

We ran in to one. That's as good as Chisnall has played on TV.

0/5 tonight and loved every bet before the off. Sigh.

Couple of greyhound suggestions for the Sussex Cup at Hove which starts today (Thursday). I've C&P'd some of the info below from elsewhere but the key info is obviously in bold. Sorry if wordy.

The main suggestion is Express Master at 8/1 with Paddy Power or Ladbrokes. Suggest £20 WIN.

Express Master certainly falls into the early-paced category of dog with sectionals of 4:19s, 4:04s and 4:10s in his three Hove races to date with the latter two of those times fast enough to lead almost every race around the 515m.

Having excellent early pace is one thing but the winner of the Sussex Cup needs to be able to see out the 515m in strong style and the belief is that Express Master can do so. In his last race, one of the other competition favourites, Bridge Honcho, went past Master after early trouble but Express Master was able to close on Honcho, and in the end was beaten by the shortest of heads.

Not only does Express Master have the sectional split times to be extremely competitive he also has excellent race times this month with a 29:60s time really standing out as one of the fastest times around Hove this year. There aren't many dogs in the competition that can go much under 30 seconds, nevermind get competitive with that kind of time.

I can find negatives with most of the other market principals: Glenpadden Post (6/1) and Bridge Honcho (7/1) are too unreliable to back in a multi-round competition, whilst Teejays Bluehawk (7/1) is a fantastic dog but often leaves itself too much to do in races and doesn't have a good enough strike rate to back when we are looking for a greyhound who can win races.

The second suggestion is Highfire Jazz @ 100/1 with William Hill. Suggest £5EW.

This is a big step up in class for Highfire Jazz but I think the 515m Hove distance could be a good fit with the greyhound. Highfire Jazz typically starts slow but has on occasion shown early pace, whilst he runs on well over Perry Barr’s 480m distance and, to show the strength of the greyhound, he has the fastest time of the year over their 660m distance.

The big positive is that he wins races, over both 4 and 6 bends, with the recent highlight being a come from behind victory over Frankbrunosbro over 480m, with Frankbrunosbro having the best time over that distance this year.

Any value in the 33/1 he's the Aussie series top scorer? Noone has scored many so far, 102 for Clarke is the best Agar has 130 but he's not gonna be series top scorer, so basically if Warner comes back and gets a ton, he's right in it! Banzai?

Anyone got any views on this, from the Mike Ashley Appreciation Society?

Acknowledging that I've not looked into it in any manner, but on the face of it..

Rafa knows what he is doing in Europe, Reina just signed on loan, cash loaded and will spend (you assume)

Long shot...Napoli @ 50/1 for CL? - e/w to make final?  2nd in Serie A last season

Thoughts?

Agreed a fee for Higuain acc to reports.

They agreed a fee with Arsenal a few weeks ago and gave the player and his agent/father permission to discuss personal terms before deciding to bump the price when everone seemed to think it was a done deal.

This is a strange one.

Looks like Higuain is done and dusted (barring a medical), Napoli have also signed Real Madrid striker Jose Callejon and defender Raul Albiol, as well as winger Dries Mertens from PSV Eindhoven, this summer.

I like my 50/1 e/w as a decent outside chance.

Dare I state an cheeky £5 e/w for the TfT?  Not sure i qualify, judging by the standard of knowledge and depth of analysis in here....just a hunch I have, big fan of Rafa in Europe helps.

Thanks Mr Waz1928.

Fortified by the re-assurance of our European Football Corry, Mr Horsey, we are on board.

We have £5 EW @ 66/1 with Boylesports, Napoli and Rafa to win the Champions League.

Confirmation to follow later.

CONFIRMATION ONLY

Napoli to win the CL, £5 EW @ 66/1, Boylesports

Darts

We are already on White to have more 180s than Hamilton I think we should also back him to have most 180s on the night at 12/1 with Coral which looks a couple of ticks too big to me, £10 is fine.

Thank you Bazza.

We are on,  £10 @ 12/1 (Corals) White to have most 180's.

Confirmation to follow later.

We are on Clarke at 5/2 for £50 pre-series

Despite only scoring one 50 in the first two Test Matches he is still favourite as he is only 28 runs behind Agar due to the absolutely dismal showing by the Auusie top order

Clarke can't go the whole series without substantially more runs, such a good player

Of course because the top run scorer only has 130 and there are three Tests to go then it is open for someone to come in and win it

Warner should play at Old Trafford but he isn't a a panacea for the Australian's ills. He too has technical flaws which Anderson has exploited in the past, and as another left hander has to go up against Swann on most likely another turning pitch.

So whilst 33/1 looks lovely, its 33/1 for a reason.

Clarke will be there or thereabouts and we are on already.

Laddies are offering the 33/1 and also you can have e/w1/5 top 3....if you want to go nitty.

I've backed it straight up. It may be 33/1 for a reason, but it seems no other bookies know that reason, as they are as low as 14s. Too much fannying about backing even money shots or fivers and tenners on Fred!
