Bugger off Jeff. You are like a mini-Chompy.

See you at the weekend.

I wouldnt exactly say a "mini" Chompy....
Oi, I was enjoying that comparison! I'm gonna blank u at the TfT social and sit in the corner with Tal talking about Strictly, Chess and how tight Glenda's shorts used to be.

Did u know the first picture on google images if u look up Chompy is as follows. Seems somehow apt:

No problem. There will be a seat free next to me.

There always is.

Somerset had a look at Taunton this morning and decided there was nothing in the pitch. They won the toss and elected to bat.

Good decision.

Score?

Somerset 47/6.

For those of us that remember the better days, this is pretty sad news.

Been through all the maidens today. Most look very uncompetitive.

The 3.15 at Musselburgh has a decent enough favourite in Gaspard. It was 6/4 but now it's closer to evens. I actually think it should be shorter and I wouldn't put anybody doing my each-way bet from also betting the jolly.

I've put an immediate line through 1,3,8 and 9 which leaves us four other runners.

Hanalei Bay is up in trip to 7f after running 6f last time. It looked like it may not have stayed 7f at Thirsk two runs ago and now they have the blinkers on for the first time, which I hate. Horrible stable, line through it.

Mowhoob is a possible. Didn't stay 1m last time and now down to a better trip. Failed to win in 13 starts and less scope than the shorter price ones. Wouldn't be a terrible each-way at 12/1.

Favourite Treat is a first time out Johnstone. No market support but it cost a lot and the stable won the race last year. Probably won't win, not a great each-way bet.

That leaves us with Mishaal. Just the sort of thing I want for a job like this. Has place form over 7f, didn't really run well on the all-weather last time but on previous form it's very solid. Hard to see it being worse than 4th ever, most likely finish 2nd or 3rd with a good winning chence. Free going, be up there from the start and hopefully HB blows out early and maybe FT is not a big trier and we're left to fight with the favourite for a win.

£100 each-way at 11/2 with VC or Sportingbet. Would happily take 5/1 (I already have) and would actually take 9/2 without being too upset.

Can say finally now that Palace have confirmed all 5 deadline day signings. This would mean Ladbrokes owes a few of us that follow this thread. What would be the plan of action here? I have sent an email.

I did look at that 2pm Kukushkin. I was obviously hoping to find an each-way. I know some very shrewd friends of mine are backing/have backed Peacemaker each-way and I wouldn't put you off. It is hard to get on these things though and I really don't fancy that to win too much. I actually decided that race is ridiculously weak and I fancy the favourite. It's not really my style but I can't believe it was evens this morning. I could see it being 2/5 and could easily make a case for that. I have actually taken 4/6.

I will join in the NFL discussion a bit but I am going to post my selections on Betting Emporium this year. Hopefully most people here have already signed-up but my plan is to get lots of bets on Tuesday-Saturday and then share my thoughts on Sunday before getting some more bets on. Obviously the market is way stronger on Sunday and it's safe to share then without killing my price.

Somerset 47/6.

Now 75/9...  at least they made it past lunch!

If Derbyshire win this game it will make the battle for the bottom 2 spots (between Surrey, Somerset, Derbyshire & Notts) very interesting.  Notts are a few points ahead of the rest but are playing really poorly - if they fail to beat Warwickshire's 2nd XI this week then I think they will be a great outside bet to go down

Hopefully the bookies bother pricing this market up at the end of this round of games
