Sounds to me like they have massaged the times to get her qualification.

Maybe. I think the benefits of having someone that high profile in the sport outweigh the risks of her weakening the integrity of the event. Not like she's going to win anything. Nell McAndrew qualified for the elite race of the London Marathon a few years back, if memory serves. Bit of a difference between getting into the club and hanging out with Jay-Z in the VIP area.

Daily Report

Loss on Month £346.74

Outstanding Bets £2822.37

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=34

A loss of £20 yesterday as underdogs Scarlets went down to Harlequins 22-20 with a last minute penalty

In further frustration we came tantalisingly close to landing a free bet too. Moreno took a pass and ran it down within the 5 yard line. Ball then rushed twice to the one yard line but could not get the ball in for a touchdown. Watching, I was willing Ball at 20-1 @ £25 to turn January around but Manning then threw it on third down and one to our old friend Jacob Tamme a 33-1 First touchdown outsider, and we were done.

One of those months

For the first time since 1990 the top two play-off seeds in the NFL reached the Superbowl, and its set to be a corker in cold New York in a fortnight as the league's number one offense and defense meet with the Broncos and the Seahawks. The Broncos were installed as three point favourites. I think I would want the defense in the cold though, but we will see

Chelsea's victory over Man U yesterday was probably good news for the Arsenal top 3 bet with  the top 3 sides now a distance ahead of Liverpool in 4th and Manchester United unlikely to threaten

The Italian football has been commented on above, and the Heineken Cup Rugby Quarters were described yesterday. In the semi final draw Clermont would have to go to Ulster or Saracens, Toulouse would have to go to Toulon. All in all tough draws, given that part of the rationale for our try scorer bets were that these teams could make the final and thus play maximum games

Lordy lordy, I was working last night, & missed all that, but what a thing if that bet had come in, & turned January round for us.

To be fair, we are long overdue a bit of run-bad, it was almost inevitable.

Talking of run-bad, I commentated on Doobs crushing the Main Event last night Next Door, think it was the first hand of his I have commentated on which he won.

Hayley Tamaddon went through on Dancing On Ice last night, she was 4th on the judges scorecards with an improved score 7 points higher than week 1. That being said she has a mountain to climb as Ray is so far ahead of everyone with his skating and performance. But Suzanne seems to be the public favorite if the polls are anything to go by, its by no means over yet, however its more likely Suzanne challenges Ray rather than Hayley.

Tea and cakes in Ladbrokes at 9.30 this morning was rather nice.

For those interested, for any bets done on markets on the coupon, the free bet slip is printed automatically when they scan your losing slip.

For any bets done on the more obscure markets, the manager has to write out the free bets manually.

When I arrived there, the manager had already started writing out the free bets.

I have only cashed in a few losing bets in each shop as I will cash in as and when I have something to bet on as the free bets only last 7 days from date of issue not from yesterday. So don't cash them in until you find something good to bet on.

Crikey, that makes a big difference, thanks for pointing it out.

I think the general impression was that the Freebies had to be placed within 7 days.

Who provided the tea & cakes - you, or Ladbrokes?

So put £1000 on a 10/1 chance, about which it's possible to lay back on Betdaq at about the same price?

How much would one lay back?

Paging Doobs.

For a stake not returned bet, At back and lay odds of 10/1 :-

At zero commission you should lay £909.09 for a return of £909.09 win or lose.
At 3% commission lay £911.58 for a return of £884.20 if the selection wins and £884.23 if it loses.

If :-

SL = The Lay Stake

SB = The Back Stake

OL = The Lay Odds

OB = the Back Odds

CL = The Lay Commission

Then for a Stake Returned bet :-

SL = ( SB times by OB ) divided by ( OL minus CL )

And for a Stake Not Returned bet :-

SL = SB ( OB - 1 ) divided by ( OL - CL )

So in the example above

SL = ( 1000 x 10 ) divided by ( 11 - 0.03 ) =  £ 911.58

Completely unrelated, but this piece refers to the previous weekend, & the following Monday & Wednesday, when results went very badly for the Bookmaking Industry.
