Did a cheat as I have no grumpy friends (think that's one of those 'if you look around at your friends and can't find the grumpy one, it's you' things).

No idea why Mr and Mrs Ondariva would want to have named their son Ace. Some odd people about.

That sounds like a line from "I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again", where they did a weekly skit on inventively named peeps.

Did you know that "George2Loose", aka Rupinder Bedi, named one of his children (he has about 9 of them) "Aces"? (True).

Well as long as he didn't call one Jack, because everyone hates jacks

What an odd distribution.

You'd think since settlement, they'd have gone somewhere else in Australia beyond that little strip.

I see team GB is putting up a record number of skiers and snowboarders. Out of interest, do we fancy doing at medals bet for any nation, like we did with the Tennessee Titans bet? Be quite fun to wake up and see whichever nation we are on won silver in the figure skating, etc

Could be some mileage in backing USA or Canada in most gold medals? Although it looks like Norway are favourites with the better opportunity of converting predicted silver & bronze into gold. Probably needs further digging into the numbers.

A quick Memory Lane photo quiz, after I stumbled across this blast from the past. You get no points for identifying Lord Grumpy, but bonus points if you can explain why is smiling.

Name all these people, & where the photo was taken.

Consumed by nerves. One 1st serve made in her first two service games.

Li Na blowing her away.

Sad.

Daily Report

Loss on Month £436.74

Outstanding Bets £2827.37

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=34

One of the problems of doing the admin chores before coming onto the thread of a morning is that these days most of the content of a daily report is covered before I settle down with my cuppa. Perhaps I should get up earlier. Then again, I probably shouldn't

We lost £50 yesterday with Mademoiselle Bouchard's nerve ridden capitualtion to Ms Na in the Melbourne semi-final

Is it February yet? Seems like a long month when its uphill.T here are more losers to come by the end of the month too eg Allardyce, Tamaddon etc

Michael Hoey gives us a weekend shot in the Qatar Masters though, five off the lead at the half way point and one off a top ten spot.

Any sightings of the Tindall baby yet? I expect with our current luck it will be Ginger, winnings will be withheld as its in a Barney Curley Lucky15 and Karen "we support Sam" Brady will be its godmother.

GB even money to get 3 or more total medals. Is that stingy? Where could we realistically find a place?

I can vaguely remember all of those people but I'm struggling to remember where it was and therefore when. I'm guessing around 2008.

Perri is going to save us in February.  And if that isn't enough excitement, Betfair have a market up for The Jump.  Tikay unlocking the safe as I speak.

Am now reminded of Jeffrey Bernard who wrote to a newspaper...

I have been commissioned to write an autobiography and I would be grateful to any of your readers who could tell me what I was doing between 1960 and 1974.

Looks stingy to me. GB hopes for 6 (I think), with best chances in skeleton, curling, freestyle skiing, speed skating.

Poor Jeffrey was reportedly unwell, according to The Spectator.
