In the snooker, terrific comeback by Neil Robertson to go through to the semis. Trump had the game pretty much sewn up, but got frozen out by Neil, and seemed to lose his way.

100 100s as well, which they were saying in the commentary box may never happen again.

Seems a bit poor sportsmanship by Judd not to at least give an applause, just sat there miserable.

Maybe his piles were playing up, Ray.

Have to say, I did think Neil's celebration during the frame, at such a crucial stage of the World Quarter-Final, was a bit ott, but he is Australian, so cannot really be expected to exhibit class.

If you were Judd, you'd probably be a bit miffed, too, as it looked like he had Roberston all wrapped up earlier in the match. Judd does appear to be a little mentally fragile though.

Anyone got a reason why you wouldn't just empty the bank on this ?

seen maywether points is 4/6 thought it would have been nearer 1/2 - mayweathers had 1 leg stoppage in about 8 years and dont think maiadanas ever been stopped but has been down the odd time

Seems like huge value to me.

No is what i said over in the boxing thread.

Ladbrokes offer evens on the final judgement being Mayweather by UD. That's unlikely to be worth the extra vig when they aren't best price on Mayweather by decision in the first place (1.62 by decision and dutching UD/MD/SD pays 1.52).

It's one of life's mysteries as to why the bookies continue to price Mayweather on points as big as they do. I mean I don't expect them to have a clue when it comes to pricing up a domestic level scrap but when it's the greatest fighter on the planet you'd think they would have half an idea.

With regards to this fight Maidana is made for him. He will walk forward all night long and Mayweather will pick him off all night long. Recently Mayweather has put on a master class and seemingly had his opponents there for the taking at the midway point before taking his foot off the gas and cruising to the final bell. Part of the reason being that he doesn't see the need to be a knockout artist and is happy to put cruise to points wins. However I think the main reason is his chronically bad hands. He throws his right hand less and less as the fight goes on which obviously increases his opponents hope of hearing the final bell.

His one punch power won't trouble Maidana, who despite being down has always shown plenty of heart in getting back up. If he does have a weakness it's to the body but Mayweather rarely goes to the body. The heart will be needed to get him through the 12 as the accumulation of punches will take their toll but as I said it should get easier for him from the mid rounds onwards when Floyd comes off the gas.

In summary Mayweather points at 4/6 is a bet but I prefer the Evens on a UD as they have priced the MD and SD way too short. Maidana doesn't have the skills to win enough rounds to win on points and I'm happy to take my chances that we don't run in to a rogue judge. 119-109 Mayweather.

Chelsea set up with their normal formation.

And at 1-0 the bus looked parked.

But that man Costa scored again.

Leaving Jose's bus somewhat smashed to pieces.

Elsewhere, Boris Johnson's Son had a good evening.

100 100's if you know what I mean?

These have managed 10,000.

But they've been going a tad longer.

Two legends and Roy Keane meet on the touchline.

Not sure how recent this is?

And who is this, what is he doing and why?

And the Rooney to stay bet lands.

Athletico Madrid are well worth a punt for the CL at 50/1 e/w with SportingBet. Woulda done a write up for Fred but the price has generally crashed plus it takes forever to type stuff up with one good arm.

Bumped, for the record.

This was the first suggestion.

Some months later, Aaron also went for them at 20/1.

To be fair, I expect every team in the CL have been suggested at some stage by someone, but McGlashan gets the honours. Hope you had plenty on.

Thanks McGlashan, and thanks Aaron for badgering me into backing them again.

Such a small write up for such a good bet.

Sterling banned for life.  No idea how that impacts the next game.....I have bet GSW already but not sure I would now.

Swift, decisive, & strong.

An example that other sport ruling bodies would do well to emulate.

As much as I abhor racism, I think that recording someone's private conversation in their own home and then broadcasting it to the world and prosecuting them for it sets a very dangerous precedent.

If that were always the case, I would now be doing 12 months for saying what I would like to do to Natasha Kaplinsky.

Fair comment, Tom, & the Boston Globe, amongst many others, agree with you....

So, because the release of a private audio recording was arguably improper, what would you do now, if you were the NBA Commission? Ignore it? Not sure that kite flies.

The recording, made in California, is illegal if all parties being recorded aren't made explicitly aware.

I cannot ascertain if it was made in California, but it may have been.

Allegedly, he WAS aware the recording was being made though. I can't begin to imagine how that convo took place if he knew it was being recorded, the whole thing does not quite make sense, so there must be some other info we are not yet aware of.

Hello Darling, just rung for a chat. Ooh, whilst I remember, I am recording this for training purposes.

The legal niceties are summed up here, nothing is clear cut, it varies from State to State, & according to circumstances.

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/04/30/us/nba-sterling-legality/

A very odd thing indeed. Seems like some bills were being paid here.

The Greyhound Derby gets going properly today, & Scotty2Hatty has written some extensive previews, including every race in the first round, which takes placed over 3 days, starting today. He also writes about his views on the Outright Market, including "Specials & Sub-Markets".

Well worth a read.

If anyone has any suggestions or questions, fire away, & I'm sure Scott will give his feedback.

There is also a blonde "Greyhound Derby Fantasy Kennel" Competition, with a £20 entry fee, here....

Daily Report

Figures as per the monthly summary

Outstanding Bets £3862.02

Free bets to use £10 William Hill, £25 Betfred

Going to remove the Valdez William Hill free bet, as the admin was not chased. Similarly, London Marathon refund

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=24

Yesterday

- Neil Robertson came from 6-2,9-6 and 11-8 down to beat the moody sullen one from Bristol 13-11. He now faces Selby in the Semi, starting tonight. When push came to shove Robertson had a killer instinct that Trump lacked, and showed tough matchplay again to progress. Selby will be a tougher nut to crack. £20 e/w 1/2 odds top 2 on Rbertson at 10-1.

- Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Mumbai in the last game of the UAE leg of IPL7 to remain in contention for a top four play off spot. Finally, some of the star talent is beginning to produce and in this game David Warner, Dale Steyn and Bhuvi Kumar were superb. Here's Warner batting the wrong way round.

- In county cricket Worcestershire beat Derbyshire. Saeed Ajmal 4-40 from 20 overs as the hosts bowled out Derbyshire for 149.  Only our man Wayne Madsen offered credible resistance as the hosts took control, Derbyshire's skipper notching 56 from 139 balls to go with his unbeaten century in the first innings.

- the flask and anorak brigade spent much of their day consulting record books after Middlesex chased 470 at 4.7 an over to beat Yorkshire with a wonderful 241* by our old favourite Chris Rogers. This was the highest total to win by 7 or more wickets in first class cricket.

- In the MLB the Royals beat Toronto again last night, and they are keeping pace with the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central

- In the NBA The Spurs beat the Mavs 109-103 to lead 3-2 in their best of seven series

- Brooklyn though lost to Toronto 115-113 to trail 3-2 going into game 6

Seems fair enough to me to celebrate the hundred hundreds.  If someone hit a 147 then there would be much air punching, and this is arguable harder.  I do think Trump was mardy, but I can understand given how the game was going.   Don't think he should have underlined it afterwards though with his "a hundred tons mean nothing to me".

Queston - why is Saed Ajmal not playing in the IPL earning mega bucks?

Did he go "unsold" at auction?  Seems odd.

Pakistani players in the IPL? A no go from both the Pakistani board and the IPL owners.....

Hey Tighty,

I could send a ridiculously long post about why I think Rohan Dennis will finish on the podium at the Tour de Romandie ... but I'm just too tired. Saying that, 40/1 @ PottyPower is a ridiculous price at the moment (compared to the other ridiculous prices on offer). Suggest £10 e/w if it's available.

Recommend Rohan Dennis to win Tour de Romandie £10 e/w @ 40/1

PS. Feel free to post this up on Fred once you've taken your fill.

1 PP offered 82p each way. I declined

2 I went to the next best, Joseph Corral,

Rohan Dennis 33/1Tour De Romandie - Outright Winner - 04/05/2014
£10 Each Way
Stake £20.00
Estimated Return:£432.50
Total Stake: £20.00
Potential Return: £432.50

Nice post. No offense would of been taken if you said shut up and take the win by UD, you know he's going to win comfortably.

As the man himself said it's about getting the most amount of money for the least amount of punishment. He knows boxing is a business. When you get $32.5 million to your opponent's $1.5 million it must be deemed a very good bit of business.

Today's Patrick P money back race is the 4.15pm at Punch.

Ned Buntline is clear favourite at 9/2. 5.9 at Betfair. Worth getting on?
