Back to punting and I'd taken a similar view to Neil in one of the races today and although he hasn't suggested a bet I had bet my selection smallish.

Can I suggest a smallish e/w bet on Mutafarrej only if we can get on with bet 563?  1/4 the odds.  4:15 Goodwood.

Before we sign off for the evening, there is one piece of news to bring you.

England batsman Moeen Ali wore wristbands declaring his support for the population of Gaza while batting and fielding on the second day. Moeen's extra clothing featured the slogans 'Save Gaza' and 'Free Palestine'.

Rule 19F, covering clothing and equipment in the ICC players' code of conduct, states: "Players and team officials shall not be permitted to wear, display or otherwise convey messages through arm bands or other items affixed to clothing or equipment unless approved in advance by the player or team official's Board. Approval shall not be granted for messages which relate to political, religious or racial activities or causes."

A statement from the England and Wales Cricket Board read: "The ECB believe Moeen has done nothing wrong."

One for tighty. Thoughts on this?

The ECB is spineless

The ICC should charge him with a level 1 offence, consistent with the laws shown above

irrespective of his personal views

How uttterly ridiculous.

He has not breached this?

"Approval shall not be granted for messages which relate to political, religious or racial activities or causes."

Oh yes he has......

This is a humanitarian issue and he is fully entitled to show his support for the people of palestine where gennocide is being committed.

not under the ICC rules he isn't, and now he is not allowed to. its is obviously political and humanitaran

Off to buy my Help for Heroes shirt

As Paddy would say I hear you.

But in terms of things like this rules can go and take a giant f**k to themselves.  If I were Mosheen Ali, I'd keep doing it.

Probably not for the forum or for this thread but one of my favourite songs was Dunnes Stores by Christy Moore.  Worth a listen and even have a look through the lyrics.

Well he can keep doing it if he wants, but he'll get the tin tack, & sacrifice his career. So I fancy he'll toe the line.

That's how life works, like it or not.

He is obliged to act correctly.

If they deduct money from his pay packet, he'll go apeshit. NO NO, WE HAVE A CONTRACT.

Yes sunshine, you do. It's a 2 way contract.  You do what you are told, & we pay you what was agreed.

Havana cooler is 9/2 (5.5) and 5.8 on betfair Money back if 2nd or 3rd. Dont like it as much as yesterday but ive gone in for £25.

top-jockey market for Glorious Goodwood, Richard Hughes is shortening up ahead of the first race at 1355.

bet365 13/8  - Coral and Stan James are both into evens today about the champion jockey with several other firms having trimmed their price.

bet365 still have Ryan Moore as their favourite but he's out to 7/4 at Coral, with the Betfair Sportsbook and Spreadex at the same price.

It's 16/1 bar.

Hughes was won the award for the past four years.

Magic Hurricane is proving a popular favourite for the opening bet365.com Handicap, the horse being backed into a best price of 13/2 (general).

Stan James' Rory Jiwani revealed: "He's currently our biggest loser on the card by some way, we've laid £2.50 e/w and that's quite enough, thanks."

Market rival Stomachion is going the other way and is now available at 8/1 with BetVictor and Stan James.

I have just noticed that having put my usual restricted bet on a horse on PP last night, £3 and change, This morning I forgot and pressed max, and it allowed me a further £3 and change.

Does this happen all the time?

If i go back later will it happen again?

What is the thinking. Do they have an overnight guy with no testicles, who is replaced by a guy in the morning with a very small pair, who in turn is replaced later by a guy with a slightly bigger pair again?

Does anyone have the answers to this tiny shaft of light in trying to get money on?

many thanks

I have observed this in the past, on numerous occasions.

I believe a factor in the algorithm is market liquidity. Get on early, little liquidity, heavily restricted. Leave it until much later, when the market has better formed & they have some money in the book, & they'll offer more.

I've experienced this with Rugby Union & Football.

Guy in the Racing Post reckons Nabeel might have been let in lightly off 75 this afternoon. Wouldn't take any notice, though, don't ever remember him tipping a winner in there.

That in the 4.25 Yarmouth?

What price reps value?

6/5 best at present.

Wouldn't be stomping in at that price. Small field and there's no certainty it will be run at a proper pace, even with J.Skull in the field.

You can find it on the Goodwood site.  It is under going or similar from memory.  Give him a ring, tell him about your auntie Doris and how she put her pension on a horse that needed it soft and report back please.

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots
