People bet it every time there is a ryder cup.  They used to be shorter about the later games iirc (more like 7/2) but don't seem to be anymore (or not to the same extent).    I think it is fine - was contemplating whether to do it myself this year.

On the singles I have backed Gallacher at 15/8 so would be a dissenting voice.  Mickleson and Watson apparently had a bit of a row yesterday about him not being picked and he hasnt exactly been great in his matches so far.  Lets not forget he reached a playoff in the Johnny Walker Classic here a year ago and has won in Scotland before.  Home advantage is definitely worth something here and I wouldn't be rushing to back Mickelson at 4/7 or something in the USA.

Just on another note on Gallacher.....the idea he is out of form is recency bias at its worst.  Whilst hae played poorly on Friday and was poor in the Wales Open his previous two tour events were both top tens so its not like he has been missing cuts all over the place.

I wasn't even thinking so much about the Welsh Open as his form here and the chance that the occasion's got to him. It was only one game but there is persistence forecast (tomorrow is more likely to be the same as today - or Friday - than not) to counter recency Wink. Tbh though I think I just like the idea of a Mickelson who's had his texts ignored going out to stuff one up the gaffer.

Story in today's Sun about how Royal baby II will be called Elizabeth Diana if it's a girlie.

Elizabeth was favourite for the first one before backers lost a flip and Ladbrokes had already ducked it spectacularly before my £25 forced BMU to cut from 10-1 to 5-1.

Fastest finger first, oi oi!

Let's go for a TfT...

Of course but that is why I am getting the incredibly juicy 15/8 ;-)

Gooooooooo on!

England fought back to lead 6-4, but a dry break left the Fins in and they have capitalised.

5-6 down, but it's winner breaks, so I make this a coin toss.

England have been clinical, winning seven of the last nine racks. Now 8-5 with the break, so the bet is on life support.

Dry break from Appleton does offer a glimmer of hope. Need to find a way of winning this rack and then the next three or it's whatever the Finnish is for curtains.
