Is TFT going underground, or has everyone become a Mason?
Whats with all the PM'ing stuff?
It has always been the case that some regular Freddies PM stuff to Tighty or I for Fred, most especially in "thin" markets, so Fred can get the best price. The bet is then placed by Fred, & is posted on Fred within minutes.
Arguably, a little unfair, but they are keen to keep the Fred "buzz" going, & the amount that is bet on the actual Fred account is usually very small, so in itself does not move the prices.
Sadly, 4 or 5 high profile & very successful punters no longer want to Post on Fred, which became quite fractious last year. They have good reason for this, which they have explained to Tighty & I, & we remain on very good personal terms, so they send bets to Fred, Tighty or myself, privately.
It's their perfect right, we can't force them to post stuff.
I vey much hope that, in due course, some or all of them may return to Fred, which is far worse off without them.

Morning.
I appreciate you are busy this week, so I won't post further on this, but perhaps, probably after Cheltenham, we can talk further on this? I have Pm'd you on occasion over the last year or so about this, but not had a reply.
In the meantime, I hope your poker week goes well.

Classic piece of Tighty droll understatement. Very good.
And well done hector, another sweat incoming on the tennis.

One for any nits out there with a working PP account (such as myself) , combining the PP - Back Man City or Barcelona to win the match and get your money back as a free bet if it ends as a draw upto £50 and the B365 offers makes it hard to lose on tonight's footy.

You PMing him complaining about all the PMs Adz?
Think there are at least two different things going on here. When I have a bet in a very thin market I always PM, particularly if it looks like Tikay and Tighty aren't around.
On the elders it grates a little when we get told this place is far worse off without the big boys to help us. Thread seems to be doing very well considering the restrictions it has to operate under these days, and some of these people left very early doors and the thread was fine after.
I don't post much now as I am just very busy and not because someone has called me a **** fwiw. Will be back for Cheltenham for sure.
Ps those Hamilton Rosberg prices look relatively about right with each other. Hard to get value in that market with 1/3 first 2. Would be tempted to swerve until the sport becomes a betting proposition again.

Who are the 4/5 high profilers that have left tft?
For various reasons, (not all of them Fred-connected), we no longer enjoy the outstanding contributions of Camel (who, let us remember, started Fred), Neil Channing, Jeff Kimber, redarmi, or Chompy. I'm sure I've forgotten a few others, too, excuse my memory, this is off the top of my head.
I remain on very good personal terms with all of them, as I did done long before Fred ever arrived, & I hope that will continue.
One thing I have never done, & won't do, is pressurise them to return, that would not be right, imo. My friendship with them is worth more than a forum thread. They have explained their reasons to me, & I accept them at face value.
But they all know I'd love them to return, if & when they feel able or willing.
For now, we absorbed many lessons from them & others in year 1 & 2, & our profitability remains at the same level it was prior to their exit. We can cope just fine without them, but personally, I'd prefer it if they were still here. Our biggest problem these days is it is becoming increasingly difficult for Fred to get on. That is one of the reasons I have regularly asked/suggested that perhaps it is time someone else took the reins. Nobody has ever accepted that invitation. Understandable, really, it absorbs a shed-load of work & time.
We still have many outstandingly wise & successful Elders to guide us, (the "notional" Elders have changed over time) & we are very grateful to them all.

Tikay/Tighty,
Now would be a good time to effectively close out the Posh to finish bottom half bet, by backing top half at 5-4 with Victor. Have £40 at that price.
Now Fergie and his hopeless coaches have left we've got a chance of beating Donny again in the match bet.
so i did it
Top Half Finish - 2014/15 Peterborough (Specials - Specials) Odds: 5/4 Stake: 40.00 Possible Return: 90.00
this i think executes a three point turn that will be impossible to report accurately each week but what we want is....
" We actually have a decent book now, with the perfect scenario seeing both finish bottom half and Poshies finishing above Donny."
Step aside Eso.

Perhaps I could have chosen my words better, David. To me, personally, we are worse off, because they are my personal friends, & that's part of what blonde, & fred, is about, having bants with our mates, especially long-term personal friends.
I still speak, or exchange notes with many of them almost daily. I work with Neil, do non-Fred stuff all the time with Chompy, write to Camel from time to time, had a bit of time with Kimber at BPA last night, & so on.
They are my friends, & that is what I mean by we are worse off without them, I like to have regular banter with my friends, that's all. That seems perfectly natural & normal to me, but maybe I phrased my reply badly.
I'm a bit pre-occupied with work & stuff right now, so its hard to find time to do justice to Fred debates at the moment, but equally, I prefer not to avoid awkward questions, I have no wish to be difficult or secretive. It's just intended to be a fun thread, thats all.

Talking of absent friends......
One of our staunchest regulars, who has been very loyal & good for Fred is horsey, who most of us respect immensely.
Many of you know life at home has been very very difficult for John this last 18 months or 2 years, as his Mum became very unwell indeed, so he moved back home to care for her.
I was very sad to learn that horsey's Mum passed away on Friday.
John was very close to his Mum, & must be hurting terribly right now.
My thoughts & condolences to John.

One thing leads to another, once we start debating Fred issues it just absorbs more time than I have available, but I need to make a point here.
At least 4 of those who no longer Post have connections to BE. (I should have mentioned Joe Beevers earlier, who has helped blonde more any almost anyone I know, knew I'd forgot a few!).
Broadly speaking, the BE boys got quite a bit of flak for various reasons, & so they don't post here any more. In their spot, neither would I, the serial sniping was not necessary or nice.
For the record, I greatly admire all the Team at BE for what they are trying to do with BE, they are trying to earn a living, & working very hard at it, so good luck to them.
When a Fred regular becomes part of BE, perhaps partly based on Fred contributions, well personally, I'm proud & pleased for them, why would anyone not be?
blonde benefits from a BE Affiliate deal, we have never made any secret of that. There is not a Forum on earth that does not have affiliate deals in place, it is not in any way improper.
Its a fine & immensely difficult line to tread, though, running what amounts to a subscription based tipping service, & at the same time, giving freebies to Fred.
Amazing how complex things become, eh?

Morning Mr T.
Good to have you back chunterring on here. Shame about Chompy not posting anymore as I had a lot of time for his tips. I always pay particular attention to anyone who is prepared to go against their own team. Obviously with his full Esochomp on Peterborough this season he has lost the plot and needs some time off.
I think there is a smidgin of value in backing Garcia Lopez to beat Verdasco later on today at the Dubai thingy, as long as we get Evens.
Suggest £15 Garcia Lopez @ Evs with Boyles, Sporting and Ladbrokes.

Ha! I don't mean to chunter, I just want a quiet life, but I don't like swerving genuine questions. Anyway, it's what old people do, Karabiner taught me that.
Chomps? Few are more missed, he is, perhaps, the funniest poster I know in so many ways, & is also very bright indeed when it comes to punting, if not poker. As are some that remain here. (Jeez, trying to avoid treading on toes is a nightmare....).
