Quick Minnesota Wild update.

Having locked up a playoff spot, the Wild finally rested Devan Dubnyk (amongst other players) snapping a 38 consecutive start streak which was the longest by an NHL goalie for 7 years. Despite this, they recorded a 4-2 win over the Nashville Predators and with one regular season game remaining they will finish in seventh spot - unless they win their final game and the Blackhawks lose theirs, in which case they'll finish third in the division and end up with a home playoff tie in the first round.

Either way I'll do a playoff preview in a couple of days once matchups are known.

Guess this will look like rear view mirror stuff, but after we have been in the Jordan Spieth Fan Club for so long, edged along by Adzy & Doobs as I recall, how on earth did we not back him for The Masters? I suspect it was because we missed the price, which, I suppose, is fair enough.

I have to say, he looked imperious last night, stunningly good. His temperament was spot on, too, or so it seemed to me.

What a future that boy has, if he keeps his proverbial feet on the ground. Really enjoyed watching him, even though I never had a penny piece on him.

It will be a goodly while before he can be backed at double figures again for a Golf major, for sure.

Morning Mr T.

I think we should be looking to lay him in running if he hits Evs tonight. Course will dry out and get much tougher and there are some excellent players close.

Els was in spectacular form last night, too. Would love the big fella to bag one more Major.

Guess the course was easy yesterday, yes, & it will toughen up, & sort the men from the boys.

Rory looked in good heart, too.

Woods was edge of the seat stuff, every shot. Some incred chips & drives, but sandwiched between some absolute howlers. Great TV, especially if you wanted to see him give a decent account of himself.

All in all, very enjoyable first day, if it was not for Sky Sports bloody piano & violin schmaltzy background music.

Enjoyed Jack's commentary spell, too.

I have done ericcson and winning margin for a fiver each. The others, paddy p and bet365, are Not possible for TFT.

Looks to me like these two bets still need to go on the spreadsheet Smiley

They will Peter, don't worry. Tighty is incredibly busy, & that Spready is a nightmare to keep up to date, but he has a system, & all bets get recorded.

Good luck with the Chinese Grand Prix - how did first Practice pan out?

Fair enough!  Smiley

The first two practices have finished, and it's the most intriguing Friday we have had for a while! I still need to do some number crunching, but we could well be in for an unpredictable weekend. Bets will be up later of course  thumbs up

I think we should back Lamine Ouahab to beat Gimeno Traver in the Moroccan tennis in a couple of hours. His performances in the first 2 rounds are better than anything Gimeno Traver has done recently and he is a slight underdog. I had never heard of him until yesterday, but he has been playing on the futures tour where he has won 3 clay court titles this year.

Suggest £15 Ouahab @ 11/10 betfair sportsbook.

Joe 90 lost his match with Verdasco last night. Hopefully we can find a spot to back him soon as I like the look of him and I really loved the TV show. In fact I am humming the theme tune as I write this.

Just had a look. Jordy can be backed at 20-1 for the US Open and PGA, and 26-1 for the Open.

Can't see much downside in backing him now for the US Open?

Hard to imagine he will start either at a bigger price.

Time to chunk it like a Tiger chip?

Let's say he wins the Masters by a Rory-like number, he's gonna be single figures. Otherwise we should still be able to lay off at shorter. What we thinking? £200?

Need to be quick though, Tote and Titanbet have just had a little trim, and Richter, Constrictor, Sphincter, Victor are only 10-1. 20-1 is there with bwin and betty sports.

Golf bets are not normally considered ante-post where it's non-runner you lose.

That's a new one on me as it's usually non-runner=money back.

is there anything that stands out at Aintree today please?

good shape races, offers, strong fancies etc

no need to force it of course, but all ears even if you don't want it placed for the thread (superstitious people around...)
