SPOTY

Ennis-Hill 10/11
Froome 8/1
Murray 8/1
Hamilton 8/1
Farah 16/1
Rooney 22/1

People who won't win 40/1

You can get 1/4 first three with some bookies.

Is this just each way thievery?

I'd back whichever of lewis, froome and murray will finish 4th. Nailed on

davis cup final is just before the SPOTY night, live on BBC by the way

with hamilton likely to clinch in the next 2-3 races i would suggest immediacy bias means Froome finishes 4th?

Agreed.

Do we not just back people who aren't the 10/11 shot (subject to reasonable betfair prices) each way and count our winnings?

Just looks like a 6 horse race where we get 2/1 a place for 3 guys vying for two spots, plus the bonus of Murray winning the Davis Cup and taking the lot.

Murray can't finish outside the top three in a BBC poll, surely?

Edit: I know it's dangerous to count out the greatest British sportsman of all time...

Don't we just break even if two place at 2/1 and one doesn't? Or have I got my maths wrong. Assuming none of them win of course.

I think Ennis Hill looks clearly too short. I think the discussion might be only theoretical as Victor don't seem to want to lay much on this market.  I think Hamilton is max 12.50 e/w at 8/1 and I was heavily restricted similarly on Murray a bit ago.

Agree with Dooooobs, Jess is an absurd price. Don't see any way Lewis is out of the three.

For the record, having looked at the remain races, I expect the following points for Force India & McLaren:

USA/MEX/BRA/ABU

Force India, currently 92. 4/8/16/4 = 124
McLaren, currently 19. 2/0/4/1 = 26

For those that can, 33-1 Posh EW for L1, and 18-1 to win the playoffs are cracking bets with Scuy.

As long as Maddison and Angol stay put in January, anything is possible now we finally have someone in charge with half an idea.

We have a really easy November, with Fleetwood (H), Crewe (A), Barnsley (H) and Scunthorpe (A), and the next three games, Port Vale (A), Wigan (H) and Doncaster (H) aren't too bad either.

Cheers Chomps, that 18-1 is probably a good home for my £5 free bet this week.

Moeen Ali Pakistan - England Top England Batsman
8/1
Total Stake: £50.00
Potential Returns: £450.00

ladbrokes went before my eyes, limited to a tenner at corals, no chance at stan james.

8/1 for series still excellent and in a few spots

Support for Ali opening builds ahead of first test tomorrow at 7am.

Some of the stories you may have missed.

Say what you like about Vladimir Putin, he knows how to turn a fist bump into a handshake with impeccable slickness.

Matthew Benham builds a football club by trying his model out at a smaller club in continental Europe. Tikay hopes to persuade him to look again at his new stadium plans with a little project he has been working on in Slovakia.

Big Sam tells us what happened when he went for an interview for the England job:

"I wanted to do a real knock-your-socks-off interview for the FA, so I put together a PowerPoint which looked at every single detail.

There was nothing missing. Nobody but nobody was going to beat it.

But then Brian Barwick, the chief executive, told me there were no PowerPoint facilities at the interview venue, so I had to print off hard copies for the panel.

So much for the progressive FA."

Adidas have unveiled a retro United kit, modelled on their 1985 team.

What's that on the trackie bottoms?
