Did we get on Jay for Strictly in the end?

To give you a rough idea of the mood in the room, this was posted this afternoon on the Strictly blog

Jay is magic....but his incredible talent will lead to a life of no food......training,training,training, and more training....moving from hotel to hotel.....constant pain from putting his body through hell.......I just hope that he can stop when he has had enough and we (the Public ) don't destroy this beautiful young man

I could have sworn Tighty used a different pseudonym the last time he posted on that blog...

2/9 best now.

FWIW, for the fleet of finger, Mourinho is 4/6 best price to be the next Man U manager, but is 6/5 with BetterWay to have his next job at Manchester United.

I wonder when Pardew will get some credit, they are what 6th with same points as Manure and Spurs, almost half way through the season?

I'm sure the haters will say its all pure luck.

He is very Marmite, and I think people let their personal feelings override their judgement.

Than again, that may include me, as I'm an admirer of him.

He seems to me to get the job done.

It's a shame the big Hull defender didn't reciprocate with a full-blooded Glasgow kiss he thoroughly deserved that time though.

Obviously done a fantastic job at Palace but I'm still a little confused as to why pubis left having done so well.

My running theory is that he thought after doing the "miraculous" in saving Palace (when it could be argued all we needed was a competent manager after Holloway persisted with an attacking style we could not properly ever execute), that he let his ego run away with himself.

He won the LMA manager of the year and was lauded heavily in the press, so he waitied until basically our first game of the next season to secure his million plus bonus and then pushed to leave and was successful.

Then I think he thought it would only be a matter of time before a "bigger" club would come in for him as he proved his mastery, not really realising that he may always be trapped in a mid table team without a bigger club chancing for him.

He realised his mistake and took on WBA and considering he was flying with Palace he probably does regret his choice.

Rumours were around too that he disliked how controlling Parish was with transfers and was unhappy he didn't ok Crouch to be signed because of poor resale value and such. So he could have walked out in a huff about that and he would always pine after the Stoke chairman while still employed at Palace, which must have unsettled situations further.

You do realise when he took over you were a similar price to go down as Villa are now 1-0 down to Newcastle at .   Maybe you should let Villa know all they need is a competent manager to get out of the hole they are currently in.  Your rose tinted palace specs just get better and better by the month.

If last year's SPOTY taught us anything, it's to never underestimate the petrolhead vote.

Seems to me that's what's going on re: Lewis Hamilton's top three price.

Given Tyson Fury's antics, I'd say there's more chance of arbboy replying to a PM than him making the top three, so doesn't this essentially become a HU v Sinfiield? That's assuming Jess is nailed on for a top three also...

We can either back Lewis to finish second (5-1) and third (14-1) with Laddies, or take 3.9 for a top three on the machine. Whichever suits best Tighty. Invest £30 either way.

I've put it up at 3.9, but it's currently unmatched. (Current price 3.7).

£30 @ 3.9, Betfair Exchange, Lewis Hamilton, SPOTY (unmatched)

This is now all Matched @ 3.9.

Go Mardy.

updates on our Scottish bets

we backed aberdeen at 12-1 to win spl (i thought it we had e/w) but we couldnt get the odds for the e/w
aberdeen are 1 point behind celtic but we have played a game more

we backed rooney at 6-1 ew 1/4 odds 1,2,3
currently he is 1 behind griffiths and 3 ahead of the 3rd placed striker

griffiths has missed the last 3 games due to a heel injury (1 in europe 2 in league)

if positions stay the same we break even i believe but still think we have a great chance with rooney for top goalscorer
and if aberdeen can avoid another bad run like we had just after placing the bet i think we arent out of the hunt

1-2 Griffiths, 9-2 Rooney. The each-way part is obv in good shape but not in a position to do anything with the win part as yet.

My point wasn't about Villa's current manager.  More the point that the hole Palace were in pre pulis was similar to Villa's current situation and Ant implying any half decent manager would have got Palace to mid table safety like TP did.

I would argue we had the team capable of doing well but needed a certain defensive style that Pulis put in. I think a lot of different managers could feasibly have done that.

Our perilous position at the time of take over highlights the job Holloway was doing. With effectively the same players he had us operating like a comfortable top half team.

Suggesting to me the value for a good position in the league was always in the team and just needed a "competant" manager to get it out of them.

Pulis did wonders with the Ledley purchase in January though, but also by then the revival was firmly on.

I am harshing on both Warnock and Holloway here. But isn't it a bit of a coincidence Pardew bowls into the club and wham results on results with a change around in approach, much in the way of Pulis?

As to the rose tinted accusation everyone who talks about their own team have them and admit to it. I have been balanced in tipping on Palace games though in that they are infrequent and only when I have seen perceived value and you can maybe notice for long spells I have been quiet.

So I would say I could have a somewhat balanced opinion on the team despite a clear favouritism. However, anyone looking at my opinion on Palace should thus take it with a pinch of salt.

It's gutsy, but that isn't too far off of my opinion and I accept it may be wrong.

Pulis does have an aura around him though that may well dispell what I have just said, of having that security factor of never being relegated and that all led to the revival.

It's just my point generally is that there was value in this team that Holloway and Warnock really struggled to get out, and with the ease of which Pulis and Pardew did leads me to believe another "competant" manager could have done at least a half way decent job.

For anyone that can get on with Bwin Van Der Voort average over 89.5 at 17/20 is the bet of the tournament so far. I'd have the line 3 points higher. He would have covered the line in his last 14 matches on TV (not including Grand Prix which is double start).

outside at crayford tv dogs on ch 212 if anyone is looking for some late night degen action chasing after doing their £100/£700 on Celtic today and/or going out of LMS!

Looks inside at Newcastle in the other meeting.  Harder to tell as virtually every fav has hosed up there.
