Anyone fancy a lotto syndicate tomorrow for the £50m?  We did one for the scoop 6.  This is probably more value with no ego issues regarding selecting numbers.

Maybe wait until it can't rollover anymore (once more on Saturday?)and they will pay out jackpot on 5 nos + bonus, if no one has all 6..... would this be better value for our buck?

I don't think it is likely value yet.   Adding in all those numbers made the chance of winning up to 1 in 45 million, and also meant the chances of winning anything else reduced.  Given the price is now £2 a tcket then I think we still lose on average.  Guess this changes when the 5 numbers + bonus comes in, though I haven't done the maths..

FWIW If everybody in the uk did a line, and entered 24 hours before the draw, whilst 1.5 people person would win it on average, 1500 would die before the draw.

Cheers doobs.  Someone told me the jackpot has to go tonight because it has reached £50m and there is a cap now.  No idea if the guy is right or not as i don't follow the lotto at all really.  Didn't even realise it was £2 a go now and/or there are more balls than 49 now either.

Yeah, I got told that it has to go tonight, too.

Anyone know the actual deal tonight then officially?  If it has to go tonight and someone doesn't get all 6 numbers does the cash just get split over 5 and bonus etc?

Just found this on the lotto site

The Lotto jackpot can roll until it reaches or exceeds £50 million. If it isn't won when it reaches or exceeds this amount, the entire jackpot will roll to the next Lotto draw and must be won in that draw.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/national-lottery-why-this-weeks-record-50-million-lotto-jackpot-is-so-high-a6796711.html

Doesn't look as good a bet as before the changes.  Who decided to cap it at £50m and why?

Lotto operator Camelot said it was selling 200 tickets a second at one point Wednesday. As there was no winner, the jackpot for Saturday's draw is set to rise to another record, £57.8 million.

Brisbane Heat host the Adelaide Strikers tomorrow morning, 8.40am start. Heat are still bottom (1 win, 4 losses) and face top of the table Strikers (4 wins, 1 loss) so I'm hopeful of an away win to keep The Heat rooted to the bottom of the table. Strikers are 4/6 favs, with The Heat at 6/5.

Few bets that might be of interest:

Whilst I think The Heat lose, one market they look to have an advantage in is the highest 1st 6 overs. I'd imagine The Heat will look to bat 2nd here if possible. The 2 times they tried to set a total they lost pretty convincingly, they have won once chasing and put up decent fights the other 2 goes. Their batting is their strength, so it makes sense to back their batsman to try and win the game. In the 3 games they batted last they had the highest scoring 1st 6 overs each time. They average a better 1st 6 over score (46.4) compared to Adelaide (42). Adelaide have dropped quick scoring opener Simmons for the more classical Jayawardene, and have lost opening bowler Richardson to international duty. Pretty swingy bet, small sample size, but can't see why they'd be 11/10 dogs for this market.

The other one I stumbled across was total wickets in the match. Unders looked of interest as Fekete is still The Heat's top bowler with 4 wickets, and he's been dropped for the last 2 games so they are certainly not prolific with the ball. In 5 games all their bowlers combined have taken 14 wickets. Had a check back into the games this season:

Games involving Brisbane Heat : 8, 11, 8, 13, 9 - 49 wickets in total, 9.8 per game

Games involving Adelaide Strikers : 12, 12, 12, 10, 12 - 58 wickets in total, 11.6 per game

Again, most likely plenty of variance in a bet like this (sides can easily lose quick wickets at the end of an innings going for big shots), and a small sample size, but none of their games have gone over the 13.5 line. The Heat seem incapable of taking wickets regularly and Adelaide are missing one of their strike bowlers.

Nellberg you're brave for opposing Adelaide's Jayawardene - I seem to remember him either getting out early, or scoring well really quickly in our domestic T20 last season for Sussex...

He's a class act, no doubt about that, but not renowned as too quick a scorer. Tournament s/r of 108, career 129. He did look very fluent last time out (57 off 37) but that was balanced out by Ludeman batting with a sieve (30 off 37, he was so poor Mark Waugh suggested he voluntarily retired out mid-innings  Tongue ). If Ludeman got going early I'd expect Jayawardene to look to rotate the strike and aim to bat the full 20 overs, so not take risks early.

Our antepost in the Coronation Cup runs tonight, Fivestar Clipper in the 8.34. He is a best priced 2/5 to win his heat.

I have had a look through and shortlisted a few selections, just awaiting early morning prices before any recommendations, one for now though :

9.06 Jet Stream Jack 10/11 is a big price, think 4/7 shot at the track tonight.

It was a big deal at the time. The result, I mean:

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/nov/15/holly-holm-stuns-ronda-rousey-for-ufc-womens-bantamweight-title

Rousey (in black) was the overwhelming favourite, has appeared in films like Expendables 3 and had all the attention in the lead up to the fight.

Not after it, though.
