Morning Tighty.
I think we should go against Benoit Paire today when he plays Dusan Lajovic at the Brazil jobbie. It is suprising to see that Paire is even at this tournament as he had been playing on the indoor/hard courts this season and this is on the other side of the world . He is not a bad clay courter but he had a hard week last week with 3 3 setters in 3 days and to come over here to play on a completely different surface seems weird.
Suggest £15 Lajovic @ 11/8 with Hills.
By the way I am very excited about the updates, even more so than England v Ireland at the weekend.
For anyone that wants an earlier fix then Kyrgios is worth backing at odds against v Berdych.

Could see Benoit retiring if things aren't going his way in South America with the long trip as alluded to above.
I'm not sure he retires enough of the time to make it worth backing @ 5/4 with Ladbrokes/Freds or any firm who settle a result after 1 set has been completed rather than 11/8 with Hills (void if any retirement at all) but I think I'd play it safe.
Certainly if the Hills price go when all the Fred lemmings get on then make sure you consider that rule.

Springbok Wimbledon starts tonight.
With a novice hurdle competition like this we can rule out nearly half the field really, there are dogs in this that are a good second slower on the clock and extremely poor hurdlers imo.
One dog that I do like that has bundles of pace and seems to be improving over the fences and jumping really well is Brinkleysdominic.
Often leaves it at the boxes making it hard for him but still posting times. He is in his box (Trap 6) tonight and is 1/2 for his race with the top 3 progressing.
I like the 6/1 on offer antepost with BFSB each way top 4 1/4. Barring injury he has to progress tonight and into next weeks semi. He is the type of dog that can get knocked over at the first bend and still qualify - rather than the if he doesn't lead he doesn't qualify type dog.
Recommend £25ew @ 6/1 BFSB.

Could anyone find me a link to the Solaris thread please ?
i am afraid it got hot and was removed
as hector implied it was one of the most remarkable things i have seen in ten years on blonde
the guy put himself up as a tennis tipster, started a thread and produced some results. he attracted a following and soon asked for investment.
it started going wrong, he disappeared and was cross-referenced to elsewhere as a "grimmer"
on discovering this some posters offered more staking "for the sport" if he came back.
He came back, some cheered but others were very anti and it all went bananas in a welter of recrimination
Startling stuff
As a late arrival to the blonde scene I'd never really heard of this. Read the whole thing (or whatever has been left after the edits) and now reading about blatch-gate. Crazy how it even happened. I can't help but laugh at the amount of hate that was thrown arb's way, and I'm only 4 pages in.

hector
the problem with RU in a nutshell
Gatland
"it's just teams defensively are so organised. There's no space on the field.
"You come up against an organised defence on the field and people who are as conditioned and fit as you are, you've got an ability to shut teams down and that's what's happened to the game.
"In the past they've gone out with the attitude of saying 'jouez, jouez, let's play' and for teams like us that's just happy days - we love that kind of thing, it's so easy to shut down."

An early bird for next weekend.
Champagne West has been a bit of a disappointment for the Hobbs team, so far, this year. He ran a cracker, when second, in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup in December first time out and last time out was pulling his way into the lead in the Freebets Handicap when he made a bad error and Dickie sensibly pulled him up soon after.
Behind the scenes, Dickie took the mistake as his own error, and it has, probably cost him the ride, at the owners request(!). Tom O Brien schools him at home, and will probably be given the ride next week.
This horse is very well thought of at Hobbs's and even has a Gold Cup entry! Three miles looks like bringing about more improvement, and I am amazed he hasn't been put over further already. The slower pace should give him that extra bit of time at his fences, and I fancy this could be the key to him realising the potential.
There is a sort of inevitability he will get backed, and as long as he makes it safely during the week, I expect him to go off a lot shorter than the current 10-1. He was backed into 7/4 in a very strong handicap last time at Cheltenham.
Hobbs loves the race, having won it 4 times in the past, and would appear to have the front of the market dominated with Kruzhlinin(now out) and Sausalito Sunrise and Fingal Bay also near the head of the market. I cant see SS running again so soon, after winning yesterday, so it maybe just Fingal Bay going with him, but I felt he was being laid out of for a handicap at Cheltenham.
I would love to steam into this, but, as recent events have proven, a week in racing as you gear a horse towards a big race, can be a long time, but we may miss some significant juice if we leave it too late.
Recommend £15 ew at 10-1 for the Betbright Chase at Kempton next week
Final decs in for the Betbright.
Champagne being ridden by Tom O'Brien, and now a best priced 5-1.
My work here is done......... Now its up to the horse.

If someone could get Fred on a dog on B365 I like the look of a runner in the last at Wimbledon.
Bigwood Max in trap 6 steadily improving over the hurdles and has a nice draw in trap 1, 11/2 is far too big suggest £20 with B365 if we can get it. 5/1 BV or Boyles acceptable if we can get on there instead.
