Are these stats on BE all correct? It states since 2013 the NFL section is running at a loss.  2015/16 the outright showing 50% Roi but the regular season in minus figures. Has this been the same with the previous seasons since 2013?, the outright winning but the regular season (week to week picks) stuff keeping the overall total in minus profit?

yes the stats are accurate

q for Peter-27 if he reads before the weekend

might Hamilton take his engine penalty this weekend? if not Monza?

got to take it on a power track where he can use the engine to overtake through the field during the race so has to be one of the next two weekends?

if and when it is confirmed for Monza not Spa...

why would Ros be fav over Ham? concern over the life of the old/current engine?

I see it now, not a bad deal really as you get all your selections (outrights/specials) for free which have shown a profit and you have to cough up £100 for week 1-17 which hasn't shown a profit since it started.

Have been looking forward to his article and will have a good read of that later on or tomorrow when I've got a bit more time

It's really close between the Packers and the Vikings for the North, a lot of momentum behind the Vikings at the moment, although a lot is going towards Diggs rather than Treadwell who I've been reading/hearing may not have much effect this year. However their D is being touted as potentially Superbowl quality

Lacy did look good in the most recent preseason match, a lot of the hype is being based on a 31 year old Wr being back to what he used to be after a big acl injury and a season off, which will open up the rest of the offence.

Out of interest I think the Packers are favs for top scoring team. I'd be looking at the Cardinals there just because of the options they've got on offence (although John Brown is apparently struggling with headaches/concussion) - Just seen that is in Tightys article and he's gone Cowboys (assuming Romo will stay healthy all season)

I'm personally going through the divisions and trying to guess what records the teams will have. Which is going to be potentially hugely embarrassing for me when they're all completely wrong come the end of the year.

Looks like PP weren't slow on changing Honey Badgers odds for Comeback player of the year 18/1 when he posted that, now 6/1 2nd fav!

With the NFL season just around the corner, we are blessed with several experts here who have given us good value stuff since Fred started.

Amongst those NFL geeks, one who seems to come up with some great stuff is Tighty, but you know what he is like, he is a bit reluctant to post his own stuff. He is also committed to BE, for whom he does stuff, so it's all a little awkward.

Tighty has written a lengthy piece on the upcoming NFL Season for Betting Emporium, 6,000 words or so (not sure I even know 6,000 words), & it includes all sorts of tips at prices up to 50/1.

If anyone wants to have a peruse, & come up with a few Recommends from his Ant style write up, feel free to stick them up & then we can badger Tighty to get them on. (Including our new Ladbrokes facility).

It is FREE TO VIEW, no subs required, though if you think it is good value, you might want to consider buying Mr Channing's package, which comes in at £100 for the whole season. There is also a link to an intro by Neil, in which he describes how it will work.

Tighty's piece is here.....

http://www.bettingemporium.com/tips/index/173

Reading Tightys write up would like to recommend £50 Vikings winning the NFC North.Vikings defense spent 2days destroying the bengals in joint practices and treadwell is a legit deep threat.Cant bring myself to agree on the Giants while Newhouse starts at right tackle..

Seconded.

Get us on please, Tighty.

It's a hard question to answer without knowing the status of Lewis' other engines. Taking the penalty on a power track makes sense, although he will struggle either way because the Mercedes is not good in traffic. The decision also depends on whether or not they believe they can have "just" one penalty before the end of the season. If they believe two will be needed, they would most likely take one here, then one after Monza. My money would be on the (one) penalty happening before the Monza weekend - but due to a lack of data, I'm particularly confident on that.

Nico is certainly the more consistent of the two drivers at Spa, but Lewis has the momentum. Nico perhaps gets the slight edge due to the threat of Lewis' penalty.

Will aim to have bets up Wednesday.

5 match ODI series between England and Pakistan starts on Wednesday. Any reason why we shouldn't be backing Woakes top England wicket taker at 4's?

Willey is injured. Wood will likely be rotated and eased back into the side. Stokes may start the series as a specialist batsman. Pakistani batsman very adept at playing spin, so Rashid and Ali may find it tough going.

Woakes in the form of his life in red ball cricket, expect him to take that into white ball cricket also. Wouldn't have thought he'd be rested at any point yet? Plunkett has a habit of picking up wickets also, so possible saver on him. Both 4/1 jtf's.

Thoughts?

On Tighty's bets, ideally Fred should back the lot. When it comes to people who know what they're talking about ITT, Tighty on NFL takes some beating.

If we aren't going to do all of them, the ones that stand out to me are:

Luck passing yards
Palmer passing yards
Antonio Brown receiving yards (only Hills are 4 places 1/4)
Minnesota Vikings to win the NFC North
Tyrann Mathieu comeback player of the year
Arizona Cardinals to win the Superb Owl.

I have some thoughts myself but I'm going to do it after the bank holiday, as I am trying to put a season preview thing together (for my own purposes, largely).

Fred should definitely have a portfolio in this sport, though. Good for sweats and we have good knowledge, here.

Personally, whilst I know nothing of NFL betting, I agree, we should back the lot, or at least a short list of them, similar to the list TalWise has put up.

I would guess some of the prices have gone now, so we might have to omit a few, but generally speaking, I like the idea of using that list as the foundation of Fred's NFL season.

TalWise counts as an expert in these NFL Markets, so that's good enough for me (Tal + Tighty on NFL  = SIG), but if any other NFL chappies have a view, would love to hear it, & we can do other bets too.

Meanwhile, getting that lot on will be quite a task, & some of our Accounts might need extra funding (no prob, I can sort that), & it may also entail my debut in a Ladbrokes High Street establishment. As Boo noted, what can possibly go wrong?

For me, I think Tighty needs to get started with the task of trying to get these bets on. Happy to do the lot.

That does not mean our book is full, we still have room for everyone else with a credible view on NFL.

It'd be really good for Fred if we can have some sweats to take us through to Superb Owl time in the New Year.

Agree about Tighty's NFL skills. Especially keen on doing any that are best price with Ladbrokes.

Marv, no need for that, hector.

The very thought of going into a Ladbrokes & trying to explain Sacks, Receiving Yardage or Comeback Players fills me with trepidation.

Is it cash only in Betting Shops?

I'm like HM The Queen, I don't generally carry cash. Filthy stuff.

Was a great write up. Ty Tighty

If BMU are anything to go by (e.g. Palmer and Luck are both 10s now) then we have some cracking bets.

Well yes, we will be too late for some, but if they still rep value at the lower price, (not all will) no reason not to proceed.

Come on Tighty, sort it out.
