Suggest £10 each way Alonso at the japanese gp with hills at 200/1.  McLaren have put an upgrade on Alonso's car making it quicker.  I think 7th on the grid or thereabouts is possible.  Again there is a bit of rain about so we could get lucky.  As shown at the start of last week's gp there can always be an incident at the start too.  And we have one of the very best drivers in the race if his car is on a par with the force indias and not far off the ferrari and red bull.

Anyway 40/1 top 3 is clearly too big.

Fernando Alonso Japanese Grand Prix Winner
200/1 Each Way (3 Places at 1/5 Odds)
Total Stake: £20.00
Potential Returns: £2,420.00

An extremely poor bet IMO. Honda do have an engine upgrade this weekend which gives them a little more top-end pace, however, the major problem with their engine isn't pace, it's heat management. Due to tight packaging, they're unable to run at maximum engine capacity for 20% of the race, let alone a full distance. This is why, more often than not, you'll see one or two very quick laps from McLaren early in the weekend, and the race will be disappointing. If Alonso did make the podium, that would be one of the drives of the century in that machine. I would have given you 50/1 top three as a minimum  Tongue

Nevertheless, F1 does produce utter madness at times, so who knows, we might get lucky.

@Doobs I always seem to criticise your F1 suggestions, but it's nothing personal, just giving my frank opinions.

Anyhow, I got three bets to suggest:

Race Winner - Nico Rosberg @ 13/8 with Hills. Anything over EVS is fine. Don't understand why he's not the favourite (actually, I do .. "hollwoodism") given how FP1 & FP2 progressed. Suggest £20.

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/japanese-grand-prix/winner

Top Six Finish - Sergio Perez @ 23/10 with PP and betfayre. Given how large the field spread is at the moment (one of the largest I can ever remember, actually), Sergio will finish in 7th under normal conditions. 23/10 on one of the top six to retire seems like a decent spot to me. Suggest £20.

Safety Car - Yes @ 17/10. Suzuka often sees big accidents which necessitate a safety car or red flag. I would have priced this closer to EVS. £20.

Peter,

I've sussed the TV times for the F1 GP, & will be up at 0530 to watch on both Saturday (Qualifying) & Sunday (Race).

Is the pretend one - the E-Prix or whatever it's called - televised? It was on ITV last season, but I can't see it scheduled this weekend.

Bangladesh were 271 for 4, one batsman on 100+ one on 80* chasing 309 and 8 overs to go

proceeded to lose 6 for 17 and lose by 21 runs

sign of a good side for England to burgle a result there.

2 games to go.

First of all, it's not pretend, it's an entirely different concept. Both series are FIA run and both series are top-level racing categories. Given that from season five, nearly every major car manufacturer is signed up to Formula E, it's only a matter of time before that overtakes F1 as the pinnacle of motorsport.

It is televised on channel five at 8:30 AM (ish?) UK time.

Ahh missed that ..

Well, I was right in as much as 17/10 would have been value Smiley

Thanks Peter.

Was about 1/5 you'd bite at "pretend". 😎

Story about cricket fixes reappearing in the Telegraph before Christmas 1.01 imo. Looked so dodge.

Rinswun, if you follow bangladesh as much as I do this is just another day at the office for this team, from sublime to ridiculous each time I see this lot play, very rare they play a straight forward game without hitting rock bottom prices before imploding or vice Versa.

We moan about British bookmakers a bit..

But just imagine we are in India and want a little flutter on the Kabaddi World Cup.

Feast your eyes on IndiaBet's over round on the tournament..
