Warwick Classic Chase today. A 3m 5F slog with 22 runners and 8 or 10 of those couldn't win if they wanted to.
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/warwick/15:35/winner

Ballycross is a young and unexposed horse down the bottom of the handicap (could be a glue pot there today as it has been under frost covers). It has good form behind Pobbles Bay and Ibis de Rheu recently at Chepstow in a race run in a good time. Pobbles and Ibis are both high class novices and with Ballycross you are playing the 'future graded horse in a hcap' angle. Available at 10s, EW four places. 8.0 on the machine.

There's also the related double with Pobbles Bay in the 1350. http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/warwick/13:50/winner

No recommendation. Just a heads up. Let the Sages decide Wink

Any thoughts on the Graham Taylor angle today?  Watford players must surely up their game today?  Wolves v Villa later as well?  Factored into the prices?

Devastating to bookmaker balances will have been Premier League match day 18 (26-28 December) in which EPL title contenders Chelsea FC, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United won their matches.

Can there ever be value in betting the top teams-surely the bookies know that people will still back the top teams what ever their price, and most punters rarely consider the value of the odds offered. There was that recent stat about always backing Arsenal was proven to be unprofitable even at much-inflated odds.

Contrary to many people's expectation with the events of last year and the new TV money, it is the most dominant top 6 at this stage of the season (20 games) in PL history.

In the last 20 seasons:
United 6th with 39 points -  the highest points tally for 6th and good enough for 2nd 7/20 and 1st 3/20 seasons.
Arsenal 5th with 41 points - the highest points tally for 5th and good enough for 2nd 9/20 and 1st 4/20 seasons.
City 4th with 42 points - the highest points tally for 4th and good enough for 2nd 10/20 and 1st 6/20 seasons.
Spurs 3rd with 42 points - only bettered 2/20 seasons.
Liverpool 2nd with 44 points - only bettered 5/20 seasons.
Chelseas 1st with 49 points - only bettered 2/20 seasons.

Cumaltively so far the big 6 have played  88 games against non-big 6 opposition and there have only been 5 losses - Chelsea 0, Liverpool 2, Spurs 0, City 1, Arse 1, Utd 1.

It would  have been a huge winning strategy to lay the non-big 6 team home or away in all of those 88 games.

does it even affect the prices?
maybe theyll be so upset that they dont play well
or maybe none of them care and most wont even know who he is

Just putting it out there.  Could easily affect the crowd, the pace of the game, goal expectations etc esp at Watford.

I just can't buy it that even the foreign players at Watford won't stick an extra 10% in today even if they never heard of GT just to be seen to be doing it to their team mates and the tea lady/kitman who would have been talking about it all week.

Tough one, cos in theory Watford should be really up for it (think GT's family are there today?), but then the occasion could play in to Boro's hands who rock up in town as the party poopers who little pressure/media focus on them.

Drab draw written all over it Wink

Pobbles Bay's jumping didn't stand up to those five in a row at Warwick. Left hoping they're unrelated now Wink

Further to the Wycombe game....they have drifted to every so slightly above even money. Match previews are not highlighting any injury problems or anything like that (not that I can see anyway)

REC £50 with bald.....http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-2/wycombe-v-yeovil/winner

Cliffs
-Wycombe shit hot at moment, unbeaten in 10 winning 8 and 5th in league.
-Yeovil poor (16th) and are the worst team away from home in League 2.

Anything worth a punt with the 6 places available (not to Fred) in the 3.35 Warwick?

Not sure how Stoke are going off a 5/4 shot away at Sunderland?  They were 4/6 last weekend at home to Wolves with a full strength side.  Wolves much better club than Sunderland suddenly?  Never thought i would see the day Stoke were 5/4 away to a team who are not even the worse team in the EPL.

They knew.

Even with 9mins stoppage time Wycombe still couldn't find a winner, useless. This is why bookies don't restrict me Smiley
