On the evidence of that first frame my cockle @25/1 on Murphy(placed pre-draw I hasten to add) is not looking too healthy.

rolls royce of a pot there from Smurf.  This has the potential to be one of the greatest 2nd round games ever.  Long way to go Ralph.  Smurf's draw is just brutal mind!

Fantastic cue-action but has an annoying tendency to miss an easy pot through what appears to be lack of focus.

There's always the chance that Ronnie retires from the game in between sessions at some point.

This certainly has the potential to be a top top top quality match as my man AW would say.

Some night of sport tonight on a quiet Thurs.  Top class snooker and darts.  Manure on BT sport.  Hove Regency heats on the dogs.  NBA play offs later at midnight as well on BT sport.  No question time on the BBC because of Easter which is a bit of a disappointment.  Thought they would have rescheduled it given the small matter of the GE being announced this week.

Let's not forget the NHL ice-hockey playoffs too where my beloved Toronto Maple Leafs are making a really good fist of it as huge underdogs against the Washington Capitals.

Murphy playing trick shots now. I enjoyed that one.

This Week was on which I think I enjoy as much if not more than Question Time as long as Michael Portillo is on. Thank heavens Diane Abbot isn't on any more.

21/10 on a draw in the first test between West Indies and Pakistan with S.J, mainly because BBC Weather suggests thunderstorms on every single day?

I think that's too much for two equally poor sides (Pakistan are better on paper, but were truly woeful in the warm up http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/1077952.html). Draw looks pretty good to me.

You'd basically be betting on the rain mind, as Windies are woeful and Pakistan are pretty good in these conditions (it'll turn, and they now have Shadab to go with Yasir). Draw as short as 13/8 in places so 21/10 looks a value price.

Recommend Darya Kasatkina £10 each way at 66/1 with several firms

This one got a bit of a boost with Serena missing out.

Yes, a nice boost!

Anyone with any antepost bets on future Grand Slams is in a great spot now. Konta has a great chance at Wimbledon. Betting wide open now, Kvitova and Sharapova are the unknown factors.

Not sure I'd say that.  Of the 28k placed on the Wimbledon antepost market on betfair, 25k was placed on Serena Williams!  Layers should be celebrating.

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

yeah you are right, I meant to say 'on anyone else' and I also didn't really think about the exchange, stupidly - Also am surprised so many people wanted to back Serena so far in advance!

Nate Silver shares this interesting graphic from The Economist

In response to this data giving her 1% he says "I wouldn't feel comfortable with 1% because it's REALLY low. But Le Pen is REALLY far behind in runoff matchups (if she even makes it)."

"If Le Pen beats her runoff polls by as much as Trump and Brexit COMBINED -- she'd still lose by like 12 points."

And

"There are few precedents for a polling error large enough to elect Le Pen, whereas there were MANY of them for Trump & Brexit."

Interesting alright. It all depends on how much people are lying to pollsters! I think it's harder to admit (for a French person) to voting Le Pen than it would have been to say you're backing Brexit or Trump.
I think the terrorist attack yesterday would help her.
If Silver is even nearly correct, then you're absolutely printing money laying her @ 5.1 on Betfair, I guess.
