Another season long to offer you guys on the NFL.

The Colts under 8.5 wins. - Evens at Betway, Labrokes, 10/11 most other places.

The Colts aren't great, while I think they strengthened to an extent in the off-season they've had a few big hits over the last few weeks, they lost their center from an already poor Offensive line that can't protect their perma-injured Quarterback, Andrew Luck, whom I think will be missing the first game, and possibly the second game of the season, they're also without their main man in the secondary for a while through injury as well, Vontae Davis. Their backup QB is a pile of poop. Even before the latest injuries I only had them winning 7 at most.

The american bookies are already down to under 8 games at around 5/8.

Getting evens on the extra half game is great.

Recommend 30 on Colts under 8.5 season wins at Evens, or 10/11 if Evens isn't possible (I'm sure I put it on at Ladbrokes last time I put up a Ladbrokes bet, and happy to do again on Friday if needed)

you would have to help  us with Ladbrokes please

by the by worth checking out these guys ahead of the season. - redzonesports

i won't stick a link up, so you can find your own rather than me tying you in to an affiliate i am associated with but this was the BE write up on them recently

"Some friends of Neil and Joe are involved with a great new set up specialising in American sports, notably NFL, baseball and basketball. it is headed up by Steve Baumohl (former head of US sports at Sporting Index). They do also cover the other markets but in ones like the NFL they will be betting 1.95 each of two rather than the UK standard 10/11 in the handicaps and totals markets and over a season this will make a decent difference to us all.

They will lay a decent bet and won't close you down if you win. We will be using them and suggest that you give them a try too. They also take decent sized bets on the Premier League and betting to 104%. They are called Redzonesports"

I read the BE write previews and saw that company. I'll keep an eye on them for opening weekend. I can get on with Ladbrokes tomorrow for you if you want me to go with that. - Although checking on redzonesports they are following the US bookies offering u8 at 20/27 so won't be going there for this particular bet - Ladbrokes are now 8/11 on u8.5 ... Betbright are 10/11 on that market though, again if you want it and can't get on yourselves I can cover that

"There's 1 bet I really like - Grant Elliott has been priced at O/U 34.5 player points (1 per run, 10 per catch, 25 per wicket)."

is that 10/11 each of two?

bet365 only?

if so would need help

Only 365, PP do it sometimes for tests

William Hill have made Virgil Van Dijk 6/1 to still be a Saints player at the end of the transfer window.

This has to be an over reaction. The manager stated today that " the club have told me that they will not sell the player". He has passed that message to Van Dijk and now the player is sulking. They have history of staying strong, virtually exactly the same thing happened with Wanyama. He told the manager he wouldn't play, handed in a transfer request and Saints held their ground and forced another year out of him.

I see no reason for that to change this time around. He is vital to Southampton and we have no replacement with the season starting in 4 weeks. Given he has been tapped up, I see there being even less appetite. Those in charge are rational business guys but they are human, it is natural in circumstances like this to think **** you Liverpool, come back in 12 months and do it properly this time.

I mean he may go, Sky and Paddy Power have him around the 3/1 mark which I still thought would have been an OK bet. I think the market has overacted and this sort of thing is situation dependent.

If we can get £30 on, I like it.

Barely a sweat ;-)

This transfer deadline has been an almighty lot of noise for very little decent business.

So many of the names mentioned not gone anywhere.

Meh.

Welcome to every deadline day ever.

The last time anything interesting happened on transfer deadline day was Dimitar Berbatov to Man Utd - Sky Sports cameras poking through windows at Old Trafford late at night.

^^^^

Thanks Rich.

August is one of the quietest months of the year for Sports Betting, so I'm not at all fussed about a small loss.

Thanks for keeping everything ticking over, you do a great job here.

Settlement Day

It's that day again. If Fred owes you anything for August bets, let me know please & I'll settle up.

PS - I plan to grim any of those I owe money to if you have been part of the Arsene Wenger lynch mob. That should limit my liabilities.

Looking at the figures, are you not tempted to avoid those sports that historically don't come out well and stick with the top 5 profit makers?

Afternoon Tighty.

Superleague tonight sees Huddersfield host Castleford. Castleford have secured the league winners shield so have nothing to play for. They are also without 3 key forwards and Huddersfield are close to full strength, with only Jake Mamo missing. If Huddersfield win their last 4 fixtures they should make the playoffs so they should be more commtitted. Add in being at home and the 2-1 odds we get make them the bet.

Suggest £20 Huddersfield @ 2-1 with betfred.
