So who would gooners like to see us sign this summer realistically?
The only signing i personally would like is Schneiderlin. I'm quite happy with the squad depth in every other position as it is. Ospina and Shez can fight it out, that'll improve them both while Giroud/Theo/Welbeck have ST covered imo.

A new 5-year contract for AW should do the trick.

Always good to have opinions of your own. I hate being a sheep.
Thought we were excellent on Saturday. One of the best bits for me was seeing Coquelin break the mold and not engage auto reverse the second any team attack us, and he stood and tackled early doors, well outside the 18 yard box, unheard of for our defense these past few years.
TBF, Mertasacka shite owned Benteke, both attacking and defending, but we shouldn't get carried away, as I always feel Benteke is one of those that unless something positive happens for him early doors, he downs tools. That said EEAWW can only do a job on the player in front of him. He still worries me though with he constant 2 yard passing in danger areas.
Front boys are a delight and hope they all get another season or two together, as things look great up front, and if AW can get Walcott and Giroud to work a weekly rota type deal, and keep them both happy, it would be great.
Would love to see The Ox get more airtime, but as long as he is happy, and we don't lose him, magic.
So for me, a central defender and a decent long term goalie during the close season and you never know.

Agree with Adz.
You need a top quality goalkeeper , a centre half for extra cover/injuries and I also think they could
do with a better centre forward than Giroud but finding one at the right price for Wenger is going
to be difficult.
I do hope he gambles this summer because he will not have a better chance of winning the Premier
league next season with both Manchester teams in a period of uncertainty.

People still doubt Giroud? Really?
Sure, he isn't Suarez or Neymar, but he is very very good at what he does imo. For a big guy he has a ridiculously good first touch and what he lacks in pace he makes up for in movement and creating space imo.
What strikers are we going to realistically sign that are an upgrade on him?
I think he has been excellent this year and think he gets a pretty unfair deal by some people/critics.
Need a new CB/paulista to challenge for a place in the team, must keep everyone else, especially Santi. Would love to see Cech in between the sticks.

I make you right, really hard to imagine any strikers that we can realistically expect to sign who are a marked improvement on the guys we have... currently. Having said that, there are going to be players out there who seem second tier who could easily do extremely well in a team set up as well as Arsenal at the moment. Be interesting to see what surfaces.
Generally though, I'd think it was more pressing to find a player who can fill in for Coquelin when needed. He has made such a massive difference to the team.. don't think Flamini (any more) or Arteta get close to being able to fill that role as effectively as Coquelin does and we'd be very exposed if he got injured.
Centre back would be nice but hopefully Chambers will come along a bit and Paulista might prove himself with a bit more game time - no idea if it's really a problem or not.
Cech, even now would be great, but Ospina hasn't done a lot wrong imo.

As an outsider looking in, it seems the team looks far more dangerous when Walcott can be accommodated. I assume his new contract will be tied up?

i know its not easy but find the equivalent of a courtois, a terry and a matic..especially a matic (a huge tank in front of the back four instead of 5 foot 7 spanish midfielders and wilshere playing 15 games a season)..down the spine of that team and i'll take arsenal's skill players v any other team in the league

Not sure what we'd do with another CB, isn't that why Gabriel was bought in January? Meterscienly as solid a CB pairing as any in the league imo.

It may well be coincidence as his career has been punctuated by many many injuries but he does seem to produce his best stuff when his contract is up for renewal.
He usually looks best as an impact player and even in the Cup Final appeared somewhat ineffective until he scored.

This for me. I can't work out whether he's fed up at not being played as a striker, but surely he'd just be angling for a move somewhere if that were the case?
I've always rated Koscielny, but I think it's a keeper, a CB and a striker before you can threaten Chelsea. Coquelin is adequate in the DM role and the attacking midfield options have always been good for your boys. Compare the strikers you have to Costa and you need improvement there.
Out of interest, Berbatov is available on a free next month. Would Wenger consider someone like that? Proven goalscorer, comes cheap and holds the ball up as well as anyone out there. Ideal to link up to your midfielders. Serious question.
I see United being very competitive at the top in 2016-17, after van Gaal sorts out the dross. Citeh might have a new boss then, too. Chelsea will have the champions league as their focus and Arsenal might have a chance for a run, if they make improvements to the squad.
Is it time to sell some of the silver? Wilshere? Ox? Giroud? Could get a few quid from those three without weakening the first team.
Obviously, I'd rather you kept everything as it is

The fine balancing act of having a deep squad of quality players, yet keeping them all happy is something happening at all big clubs. We need to keep all our squad intact. I hope he sells none of those mentioned. All would have to substitute Euro play to get weekly games.
They would have to go to a team like 5pur2.
Rather unpalatable, I'd say.
