Those managers would have been trying to win the league or qualify for Europe instead of a shitty fa Cup
For 3 out of those 5 years Arsenal also qualified for Europe, champions league no less, while also pulling in the odd shitty cup |

Good game of football today and nice to see us turn up for the first half.
Brilliant equalizer from Lacazette - Leno gave me(and no doubt himself) a few uncomfortable moments, but Xhaka was excellent throughout.

I think that double defensive pivot makes Arsenal a much better team
Previously the big sides found it easy to get through central midfield and attack those centre backs. Not so easy now with two holders in front of the back 4
not quite there yet but pretty encouraging i would say

Enjoyable game and great to see the positivity and enthusiasm returning to the Emirates.
Some excellent performances - Torreira looks v good and Xhaka a different level to anything I've seen from him previously.
Shame for Liverpool though with the disallowed goal. ( I resisted the temptation to put a smiley there)

Torreira has made a very significant impact so far and to Tighty's point, the 2 in centre mid make a big difference, we've got plenty of good attacking players and Torreira and Xhaka both pass forward pretty well too. Emery's use of subs is so much better than Wenger too- it never looked like Wenger had the ability to adjust approach during a game - it often felt we were either in it or out of it for the whole 90. Best thing about this start and decent improvement overall is that we don't have to listen to any aftertimed 'Arsenal fans should have been careful what they wished for blah blah etc' |

This is "fake news" according to the great man himself. To be honest, I'm actually pleased if it turns out to be fake news. Somehow it never felt right, & I guess with IG soon-to-be-installed at AC Milan, that was the catalyst for the stories. Somehow I'd prefer him to take up a more statesman-esque role in football, rather than in Club Management. Whatever he does, I'd wish him well though. |

I'm delighted to see Rob Holding having a good run of games in the team and receiving well-deserved plaudits; I wouldn't be too surprised if he got a call-up for England soon.
He cost £2.5M a couple of years ago - I wonder what he'd be valued at today.
