I think Welbeck is a good signing for arsenal personally. Gutted he's left for a rival. Time will tell I guess

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

good signing
23, english, decent value for money. likely to be invigorated by playing every week
home quotas in champions league squads too?
far more wenger's style than £364,000 a week for Falcao, isn't it?

who will put the ball away. Sanogo won't
much better value for money than a marquee signing.

The thing is if Arsenal were in for a striker all along, why has it taken til deadline day to get Welbeck of all people? Obv he's not a terrible player, but this window Costa, Balotelli, Remy, Lukaku, Eto and others have all proved themselves available. Seems like mismanagement to me.
But more importantly, i actually can't believe that we're about to go into the New Year with 7 defenders total. Lol.

Welbeck doesn't score.
37 in 175 career for clubs
8 in 26 for england
shoved around out wide, off the bench, all sorts
he scores alright.
As long as Arsenal can modify their constant quest to score the perfect goal and give him sufficient service, i think he's good value for money
not falcao, cavani, balotelli of course, but far more of an "arsenal" prudent signing

Bit non plussed about Welbeck really
In essence he is ok/good but his finishing is poor and that is rarely something that can be improved

Nothing to do with prudence in a money-saving sense imo as I doubt very much that we would have signed a striker had Giroud not got crocked.
Very surprised that we didn't manage to recruit a top-class CD but I guess there aren't that many around as manure could have done with a couple too.
