The Olympics. Spunking a load of money on minor sports that would never normally get your attention.
Pendleton n Ennis only plus points for me, but hardly worth bankrupting the country for...
If they'd turned round & said "There's a world recession & the Chinese raised the bar too high, so this time we're dropping the over-elaboration and concentrating on the sport" lots more would have been behind it - now it just annoys me. For the record the things I don't get about it are 1) the point of an opening ceremony with all the fireworks, 2) the 'torch running' tradition - the Nazis came up with a lot of idea that were rightly not adopted - why this one? |

But thinking of Ennis n Pendleton takes my mind of that sh*t...  Might as well be German shotputters as they are both rancid. Volleyball, Swedish girl footy team and rhythmic gynastics is where its at or Javelin if Paraguay are chucking..  |

You're just jealous. Yep. It's the hazards flashing that I don't get Tom. At 1 point there was 3 cars, 2 van and 2 HGVs all in a line on the hard shoulder with the hazards flashing. Just don't get it. |

Just don't get it. It's so when the cops appear they can say "I'm sorry officer, my car/van/lorry was overheating and I didn't want to break down on the motorway". |
