As he put in 2500, which was more than half my initial raise, he should have been forced to complete the raise to 2800.

Don't what to rub, but this is irrelevant imo.  Obv he just didn't see your raise and is a lying pos saying he was just calling.  So the ruling should have been based on him not seeing your raise (and some might rule that he can call).

It doesn't matter if he didn't see my raise or not.

The ruling was straight forward and simple and I've seen it made 100s of times.

It should have been considered a raise.

He can easily angle shoot me. If I don't want to reraise, he knows I'm weak and he's getting more chips in the pot in position. If i do want to reraise he cries he doesn't want to raise.

If I had to put money on what was going through his drug addled mind I would guess he thought I was the bb and the actual bb was the sb. (I was raising utg and there was a dead sb).

If he'd realised I had raised utg, he would have folded.

Roberts Rules

12.  A player who bets or calls by releasing chips into the pot is bound by that action. However, if you are unaware that the pot has been raised, you may withdraw that money and reconsider your action, provided that no one else has acted after you.

That does refer to cash tho.

I put more than double the bb in the pot and the dealer announced "raise"

What more indication does he need?

Jamie Sykes had a similar ruling go against him at DTD but he was in space cadets position. Guy mins to 1200 at 300/600, jamie puts in two 1k chips and says nothing, gets ruled as a call.

I didn't agree with that ruling either fwiw but they quoted some bs about them all being the same denomination chips and that if it was one less it'd be a call so it was taken as a call.

gl today!

100% the correct ruling by tda rules even though I think the rule itself is terrible

see discussion here from 2 days ago

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=57979.0

rule is

39:   Multiple Chip Betting
When facing a bet, unless a raise is first declared, multiple same-denomination chips is a call if removing one chip leaves less than the call amount. Example of a call: preflop, blinds are 200-400: A raises to 1200 total (an 800 raise), B puts out two 1000 chips without declaring raise. This is just a call because removing one 1000 chip leaves less than the amount needed to call the 1200 bet. Placing mixed denomination chips in the pot is governed by the 50% standard in Rule 37.
