Art Collection is overpriced for me in the 2-35 at 16/1. Was very green last time out but once it got itself balanced it made up ground very quickly.

surely just beat trees down at brighton though.

have massive position for jack hobbs and against golden horn but also had 4 win doubles on these, gl all  2.00 shaakis/dutch uncle

Disgraceful to schedule the 3k plo8 whilst Ascot is on.  Always love the first day.  Bit like Chrltenham, where the first day has the strongest card.

Do we need a five day festival?

Why not have two days elsewhere in the calendar (either separately or as an end of season weekend) and have a more concentrated Royal Meeting?

We had that farce the other week with five meetings in the North because all racing that's any good has to be on a Saturday and now we go from one extreme to another with a five day flat festival. I don't think five days is anything new, but why not have a proper weekend of racing with that daft Shergar Cup?

The group races cannot be moved as they are an essential part of the pattern.

Many of the handicaps are traditional aims for this part of the year (Hunt Cup, Wokingham mostly, but the Ascot stakes, King George and the Bessborough too). I suppose you could trim a few off and go back to 4 days, but the Saturday has become the second most popular day.

The Commonwealth Cup.

6f Group 1 for 3 year olds only. There has never been a a Group 1 in the UK for 3 year olds run over less than a mile.

Tiggy Wiggy v Limato v Hootenanny.

Should be a great race.
