Here are the results of the Mug Punter Jury:
1.55: Communicator
2.30: Estimate
3.05: Absolutely So
4.20: Erik the Red
4.55: God Willing
(In before someone says
nul points
)
which hat did you use today Tal?
The most ambitious one, natch
If one of the next two come in, the hat will be moved to a jaunty angle.

13:55 - Dolphin and Lahaag in the first, with a saver on Adz's.
14:30 - Cavalryman in a trixie with Wigmore Hall, and Bragging last night.
15:05 - Absolutely so
15:40 - Backed Rangali and Take Cover AP, and have chucked a few quid on Stepper point and Astaire today
16:20 - Not done anything here
16:55 - Adz's and Halation
Pain and Pleasure over the course of 2 races...

If every jockey could watch a race to learn about a patient ride, that was it. Pure genius.

Wonderful.
Did see you see the run by G Force? Looked to get in all sorts of trouble, and still did well.

I have watched it again and G Force didnt have the cruising speed to take the gaps that Sole Power did
A superb sprinter never truly got the credit after winning this years ago at 100/1 looks even better now with Hughes ontop.

Thanks John. I saw it slightly different, I thought he followed the winner through at the same pace, but got completely stopped at one stage. Well off the pace early though, yes.
I defer to your better eyes though.

Quite warming to Secret Brief in the next. Was well fancied when MJ was taking no prisoners @ Gooders and may have needed the run.
Although he has a dreadful York record, it would be strange if he couldn't get one home when the string are in great form, and the way the market has been today the only horse for money bar him has been an unraced horse from Mr H.
Another small ew called for methinks

Pretty sure the money is because Hugh Taylor put it up and seems very sweet on it
You wouldnt want to pick the winner of this for your life a maiden were a fair few are trying/have group entries

Haha, I didn't even look at Hugh's column today...
Still, hopefully Johnston can pull one out of the bag!

Same as Marky, hadn't read Hugh. Pretty sure his festival record isn't up to much, so one opinion I dont bother with/worry about if I miss reading it during big meets. Easy enough to be influenced as it is. Just read it and like you say, its probably why theres money. Just noticed though that Buick in his column was v keen on Swot.
Rest assured, I won't be having anything near a point each way on my staking scale on this race, let alone my life, but thought it was worth a mention.

Sturggling to see past the favourite in this race but, the price is skinny enough. Had a small punt on the exchange on Muffarreh both win and place, bigger on the place than win part. But only on for modest amounts.
