Because I don't slag people off via social media , so therefore wouldn't expect people to do that to me. If I did id expect to get a slap from them. Im not embarrassed by that at all, if you disagree that's fine but its only an opinion.

Bear in mind a slap is basically "a word, clip round the ears, don't do that again, type thing"

No need for you to pull me up on it. Enjoy vegas.

Sick rubs, already home and drew a blank.

Maybe just the perils of communicating by social media then.  Have a good day and trip to Vegas.

Wasn't serious, no need to apologise.  Was over it pretty much straight away.

Congratulations to Brett Shaffer, Winner of Event #53: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em ($665,397)!

After four days of poker, Event #53: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em now has a champion with Brett Shaffer collected his first WSOP bracelet and $665,397 in prizemoney.

What started on Saturday with a mammoth 2,816 players was slowly whittled down day-by-day until we reached a final table of nine early yesterday afternoon

Once play recommenced today, Raekorpi would last just four hands before falling in 3rd as Shaffer took s chip lead into heads up play that was virtually the size of the small blind. Vamplew took the lead early, but Shaffer snatched it back before extending it further and further to hold a two-to-one advantage. After 23 hands of heads up play and 201 hands at the final table, the final hand would see Vamplew snap-call Shaffer's three-bet shove with QQ but was unable to hold against Shaffer's A9 when he flopped top two pair to see the young Scottish player earn his second 2nd place finish of the series.
Place   Name   Prize Money
1   Brett Shaffer   $665,397
2   David Vamplew   $413,157
3   Arttu Raekorpi   $291,392
4   Loni Harwood   $210,456
5   Mike Watson   $153,850
6   Deigo Zeiter   $113,819
7   Jonathan Cohen   $85,193
8   Darren Rabinowitz   $64,513
9   Matias Ruzzi   $49,420

Congratulations to Dana Castaneda, Winner of Event #54: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em ($454,207)

It was a short day for the remaining players in Event #54. Players dropped off the map quick in the early levels after a few moments of stagnant action at the start of the day. At the end of it all, Dana Castaneda was crowned the champion, becoming the first female open event winner other than Vanessa Selbst since 2007. According to Castaneda, the only reason she even played the event was because of her 94th place finish and cash in Event #51: $10,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship.

Event #57: No-Limit Hold'em

    Buy-in: $5,000
    Prizepool: $3,684,800
    Entries: 784
    Remaining: 252

Mark Darner Leads Event #57 at the End of Day 1

Event #57 of the 2013 World Series of Poker, the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em tournament, attracted 784 players to the Brasilia Room and at the end of 10 60-minute levels only 252 of those who started had chips to bag and tag. The title of overnight chip leader goes to Mark Darner who turned his 15,000 starting stack into an impressive 222,700.

Darner flew under the radar for the majority of Day 1, but he will be firmly in our sights on Wednesday's Day 2. Darner, a Florida native, is looking for his second cash of the series, having finished 16th in Event #9 ($3,000 No Limit Hold'em Shootout). Should Darner reach the money in this event — 81 places are paid – it would be Darner's third cash at the WSOP in his career.

As you would expect from a tournament costing $5,000 to buy into, Event #57 saw some of the biggest names in poker take part. Timothy Reilly (154,200), Philipp Gruissem (143,800), Matt Perrins (142,500), Sam Trickett (116,000) and Antonio Esfandiari (97,000) each had good days at the felt and enter Day 2 with sizable stacks.

Some of the notables who did not fare as well and busted during proceedings included Christopher Brammer, Chris Moorman, Jonathan Aguiar, Elio Fox, David "Bakes" Baker, Sorel Mizzi, Marvin Rettenmaier, Yevgeniy Timoshenko and the legendary Phil Ivey.

Day 2 commences at 1p.m Las Vegas time sharp

UK players in the final 252 (unlikely to be inclusive!)

Matt Perrins 4th
Sam Trickett 6th
Charlie Coombes 52nd
Keith Hawkins 56th
Paul Foltyn 58th
Victoria Coren 65th
Ash Mason 74th
JP Kelly 113th
Liv Boeree 114th

If you hear of others or more accurate info please post it

Leave these classics to Twitter. I want to know every motion of my favourite poker player and have it all stored in one place.

A couple of these make the final and the rail might collapse.

If by some miracle i ever made a wsop final table, I wouldn't expect alot of people that I wasn't friends with or hardly knew to come and support me, in fact I'd be shocked if they did - The crazy rails seem to be made up of a close group supporting one of their own, nothing to do with blind patriotism

Not sure what all the fuss is about tbh?!
