It is so long since I went to the lakes, I have been to Keswick but couldn't remember the hill name, so had to cheat.  Married someone with a terrible fear of heights, so will be a while longer.

I have two daughters now, so maybe there is hope.  Took them to the Dales a few weeks ago, to have a look at Malham Cove.  It started raining and the eldest was like f that.

Have done a fair amount of walking in the Lakes, albeit most on higher ground, however there are loads of low level walks, around lakes and smaller valleys/ villages that dont go too high, but still give great views and a good workout! Seems a shame to miss out! Ha i agree with your daughter, Im very much a fair weather walker, unless im away with a D of E group or something. I wont be going out in the rain unless i have to!

Whinlatter?

Not quite, Whinlatter is further left of the pic, the other side of Keswick if you like. There is a fantastic mountain biking facility at Whinlatter, which ive been lucky enough to visit/ ride 3 times. WOuld never go near the hardest (black??) route, but went up the second hardest a few times in the past, and its great fun. Wouldnt recommend the totally unfit to give iot a go, as the uphill was bloody tiring!!

Yep! Or Skidda as the locals refer to it. Helvellyn is a fantastic walk, however you have to know which way to go up it! One way is a killer! But striding edge/ the views from the top are pretty awesome! Might try and find a pic of me up there a few years ago...

Apologies for the headband, it looked cool at the time! haha

So decided yesterday to sell a smallish online schedule on Blueblood. Was around $150 or so over 12 tournys i think. Managed to mincash the bigger 22, and an 80th in the hotter 11 turbo for about $75 i think. Was fairly happy to break even over the day, considering it was the first time id clicked a register button on stars since May or June i think.
Would certainly like to get more into the online grind, and might be easier when i have a little more time on my hands at uni. Zoom looks the best option, as is more flexible etc
Anyone want a horse? Cheesy

So the cricket season is drawing to a close unfortunately, with one league game to go. My club, Tenterden CC have managed a good second half of the season, and comfortably mid table, despite a fairly heavy loss at the weekend. This saturday night sees the annual fines night, which promises to be fairly messy, cant see me doing much sunday!! Cheesy

If it isnt too boring, as there seems to be a tiny bit of interest in the Lake District/ walking posts, i might post some pics/ ideas during my dissertation write up on footpath erosion. Know its a long shot, and most wont give a damn, but anyone who has interest in the area, please pm me!!

Shall leave you with a pic on my favourite valley, Mickleden, connecting up to Great Langdale. Where as im sure a few are aware, there are a couple of great pubs!

That sounds like the most interesting thing I'll have read since the fish and chip shop menu last week. It mostly contained fish and chips.

People walking on them is half the problem.  Freeze thaw action and other weather type shit will also contribute.
