Cedric signs a 4 year deal and a lifelong  3rd choice keeper come in for back up in Stuart Taylor

so on long term deals signed since end of last season

Forster
Cedric
VVD
Bertrand
JWP
Redmond
Hojeberg
Long
J-Rod

with a few more in talks and maybe some i have missed should give us stability for the next few transfer windows
and all of an age where they could allbe growing together and peaking together

good news for the future of the saints IMHO

bad news is (unless you go by the name of thedazzler)  there is whispers of the Leicester  trying to get involved with Boufal

Much needed as we have looked poor in attack so far.

Charlie Austin was blooming awful on Saturday. I think he had 14 touches in 75mins, not one inside the box. Looked completely off the pace.

I think it's the right decision to keep J-Rod, we need that option to turn to. This new system is going to take a while to adjust to watching - gone from the high press to possession and slow build. Lots of quality throughout the team but it's going to take a while for everything to gel together.

Southampton Football Club has today been made aware by the Daily Telegraph that, as part of their on-going investigation, the club's assistant first team manager Eric Black will feature as part of an article in tomorrow's paper.

The club immediately requested to be sent, by the Daily Telegraph, the details of this article, but the newspaper declined to share any further information. We have today contacted The FA and the Premier League, and intend to work closely with both bodies on this matter when the facts become clear.

Southampton Football Club is fully committed to investigating any situation that directly or indirectly relates to our club, employees or the wider community.

What an idiot. Staggeringly naive, these people just openly chatting about bungs. Get him out. Maybe can convince Sammy Lee to come back given he suddenly looking for a job again!

Pressure on Puel now.

Tactics are bizarre, playing some horrible negative football. Have not looked threatening without Austin at all.

Also have no idea what our first team is anymore and am sure that Puel doesn't either. 5-6 changes every game is hurting us now.

Not panic stations yet but the brand of football is what is most concerning - drab with a capital D.

Reportedly if City want Van Dijk in January then the number is £60 million! Will likely go for £40-45 in the Summer.
