Listening to both Hunt and Johnson on Sky News, just makes me gasp realising that despite the difference in campaigns that Boris still remains clear favourite. I get what Tory members want and who they see can deliver it, but really?

Jeremy Hunt has proposed a clear and detailed plan, in't pushing no deal and isn't running with this utterly stupid idea of suspending parliament.

Boris Johnson is literally full of bluster, jitters and "erms" and his plans are utterly unbelievable.

The reality of it all still stands that the WA can't be reopened, so the chance of no-deal is as likely and unlikely with either potential leader. The difference in all of this is that a General election is just much more likely with Boris than Jeremy.

I just can't understand that bluster, confusion and racism is going to get into number 0, rather than someone with a much more detailed plan who's been in cabinet for some time. It's madness.

Jeremy will most certainly be getting my vote, reluctantly.

It’s surprising that you are a member of the Conservative Party.

Essentially I'm not - just signed up 9 months ago, because a leadership contest looked v-likely

Real democracy in action eh Aaron?

It obviously instinctively feels wrong but I think it is mitigated somewhat by the fact that in this instance the Party of a minority government is selecting the PM.

Struggling to understand a link between the two.

Its pretty normal in the situation with current MP numbers, minority governments, in coalitions etc that the leader of the largest party is the PM.

Bit rich for Remain to bemoan the unfairness of minorities holding sway over decisions

Anyways a more interesting point for contemplation is the actual motivation of both candidates to want the gig at all. Entering an impossible situation with deep divisions everywhere, no chance of success or achievement, probably career suicide. Why even go there?

Aaron is a mirror reading Tory, well well well......

Reading The Mirror is a terrible idea, that part is simple. I’m still trying to figure what I think of joining the party to get a say in the leadership election. Obviously it corrupts the process but the process is already beyond ridiculous (160k picking the PM in a party that hasn’t commanded any sort of meaningful majority since the 1990’s), so I guess I’m OK with it.

If it causes as much damage to the Tory party as having a load of £3 Tories help elect Corbyn then there may be some upside to it after all.

However, I think Aaron might be outnumbered by all the UKIP infiltrators trying to deselect MPs such as Grieve, Gauke, etc.

It's just not possible to negotiate hard with the EU and take no deal off the table is it?

The cards are all face up though. If it’s catastrophic for us and bad for them but they deem the possible break up of the Union to be worse, they can and will (they are atm) use our relative weakness as leverage.

Agree its no worse but its also subnormal. Readily encapsulates the state of our tribalist, gesture, dog whistling, virtue signalling political bollocks
