At some point in time people are going to need to stop talking about how bad it’s going to be and start contributing something constructive

I mean how many links to the same bad news in different guises? Which products will we run short of this week? What threat will EU leaders issue today? What graph will illustrate the crisis most accurately this time? To what actual end?

It’s like being in the trenches with a platoon who keep crying and crying and crying. Repeating we’re all gonna die over and over and over. Look chaps the enemy are almost upon us. Please dry ur eyes and load ur weapons now.

Agree with some of your viewpoint here

It's like as if you know there is going to be bad news and you accept the reality of Brexit. If you know this, then why did you vote Brexit?

As for links and stuff, as much as they are insightful, it kinda lowers the topic in here because it shows we can not debate with each other here. I do get fed up with the links someone posts. In fact, Tighty's link about the guy talking about newspaper wrappings is very hypocritical really, as I've been told to give it a rest about calling Brexit voters idiots and so on, but there someone is doing exactly the same. We all know the vast amounts of idiots voted for Brexit, if you put 100 in a room 90 of them vote brexit and the others probably didn't know how to vote.

I will be happy when this comes to a conclusion, but there is little chance of that happening anytime soon. I assume we might all still be here next year talking about the same old stuff!

At the start of the Panorama program Franz Timmermans says continental Europe sees the EU much differently to UK. O’rly.

They don’t view it as economics, it’s more important than that, they see it as their destiny

I would love Remain to get into this area of the debate. Drop the economic argument for one second and talk to us about why UK should share the passion for destiny, for us to change our aspirations to continental ones, our island dna to a mainland one. The German car industry would put principle ahead of profits but we should put profits ahead of principle.

It's a deece point this. Even now, 3 years on, the main protagonists for remain continue to try to win hearts and minds with a wholly negative message

Yes, it's almost the shear delight of some on here at reporting bad news.

The worse the news the more upbeat they appear, 'oh look another glorious article about how shit it could all possibly be'.

Forgotten how many times I have mentioned the appalling way we are viewed by the EU as an Island entity, good to see others finally acknowledge this is actually real and more than just economic.

You’re right - it is more than economic.

People are dying in this country because the focus has been taken away from domestic issues to try and deal with a decision that 17.4m made.

Hmm, so if we hadn't voted for Brexit, people would have stopped dying?

Sounds like a programme from the Syfy. channel.

Why are they dying Aaron?

Can you identify the specific policy areas that you think are the issue here?

It’s a well known fact that anxiety and stress are big killers

So if vulnerable folk get exposed to worrying news over extended periods health will suffer

Somebody needs to peddle optimism and wave a kipper for the good of the nation’s health

Anyone fancy an upset ?

33/1 Hunt available

or Boris %....70% to 80% is fav at 5/4.

I thought Liz Truss was a good bet for Chancellor at 6/1 last month...but Javid now fav at odds on. She is surely on for a "good" cabinet post, having introduced Boris at the last hustings...and I just read a of a "Stop Saj" in the Boris camp because they wonder if he has the radical vision a new chancellor will need.....so there is hope for Liz.  Smiley

Obviously not a strong field competence wise but it’s fair to say everyone was blown away by how clueless and inept she was as Environment Secretary. I think Boris knows just about enough for it to count against her.

Amber Rudd's recent volte face's are making a strong run at getting a top job too

Saj for chancellor makes sense. Economics background, was both financial sec and economic sec to the treasury.
