Just uncomfortable with how the rhetoric for remain continues to be presented

That picture of Boris, Mad, Stupid, People deciding is like children performing brain surgery with crayons etc

If we look back at my previous point, when did the people ever opt into this hugely complex situation with every implication clearly presented? We have been hoodwinked into an ever evolving German influenced system that encroaches into any semblance of the original agreement. The first time we get a say we express our will and it’s insult after insults. All very moody.

An equally significant development is a British tanker is now seized because we were upholding EU sanctions. Where is the super supportive rhetoric delivered with equal passion? Perhaps outside of EU we won’t have the motivation or funding to continue playing global sheriff. Might make UK a safer place for our people.

Surely the ball is in Boris’s court on this. If he (and you) want to people to stop pointing out that he is an incredibly useless, inept and ignorant c***, then he needs to do and say different things. The guys only redeeming feature is that he’s so shit at everything (including lying) that watching him is funny. The British law on kippers that he got confused about and you so enjoyed is a prime example.

Also worth noting that all the things we get hoodwinked in to doing benefit the country.

I am pretty sure neither Boris or Mantis are overly concerned, he obviously has the support of the people who matter at this point in time.

Irish deputy prime minister Simon Coveney appears to offer olive branch to Boris Johnson in the Sunday Times: “The goal on our side remains a future relationship between the EU and the UK that makes the backstop unnecessary.”

This has always been their goal, which is why the current dead as a dodo deal provides a mechanism for the backstop to fall away if a future relationship is agreed which makes it unnecessary

Which is why MPs voting against the dead as a dodo deal by holding a position simultaneously arguing:

'the backstop is unnecessary cos of existing technology/alternative arrangements/magic'

and

'we'll be trapped in the backstop forever'

is completely inconsistent with logic!

suggestions that Gove will be appointed to Northern Ireland. Which would be ballsy

In 1999 Gove describes the GFA/peace process as a "moral stain" and a "humiliation of our Army, Police and Parliament".

You can read the full paper, 'The Price of Peace. An analysis of British policy in Northern Ireland' by Michael Gove here: (link: http://www.finfacts.ie/MichaelGove.pdf)

Priti Patel is tipped for Home Secretary.

Patel caused outrage when she said that the risk of food shortages in Ireland in the event of a No Deal Brexit should be "pressed home during the negotiations".

A really devastating indictment on how successive govts have allowed naval capacity to wither on the vine, despite repeated warnings, while adversaries’ hard power has grown

by Mark Urban the renowned defence and diplomatic correspondent

which is presumably why only one ship was in the gulf and was an hour away from helping last week

Surely the people that matter to Boris right now are those voting for him to be PM, and it sounds like he is going to win convincingly?

Those quitting were going to be replaced anyway so better to jump rather than be pushed?

None of those people are really quitting are they, just taking a demotion?

We can all agree that the government has been inept and disjointed over recent years

When a new boss takes over the ensuing changes to an inept, disjointed team are expected if not encouraged

So gasping and swooning at changes is not necessary thankyou please

I know you think life revolves around drama and emotion, but a handful of Tory mps openly talking about rebelling as you take over is significant.  If they had a 50 majority it would be just blah, blah, blah.

Not sure “Divided Team is Divided” makes headline news in my intoxicating existence though

Following Tory MP Charlie Ephlicke's suspension, Boris Johnson will now be left with a working majority of just one seat if the Conservatives lose the Brecon by-election on 1 August.

going to be hairy, and would be for any PM

thats why losses of moderate cabinet members and possible controversial appointments are in this particular instance important

I wouldn't normally mention Patel or Gove in their suggested roles

but piss off a few more Tory MPs at this point in time and you are into confidence vote territory.

why he would be wise to have a few prominent remainers in his cabinet, for parliamentary maths purposes

Laura K on twitter

[i]1. This is rather extraordinary - Sir Alan Duncan tells @bbcnews he quit govt so he could push for an emergency vote tomorrow, after the next PM is announced, to test if they can hold a majority.
