The comparison may be obvious but this is a very Thatcher-esque performance from May. Blown Corbyn away, a formidable performer really for a first PMQs

Very impressive performance by May (and very Thatcher-like at times).

Thought Corbyn did alright, actually.

183,541 have registered to vote in Labour election at cost of £25.

In 2015 105,598 registered supporters voted and 88,449 (83.8 %) voted JC.

If 180k registered supporters have indeed signed up in two days, they will make up a THIRD of the total selectorate.

Once unions have recruited new Labour affiliated members over next 2-3 weeks, total electorate could be 600,000 to 700,000. Maybe more

so this huge disconnect between a membership very left of the PLP and going to re-elect Corbyn.

one interpretation was

(((Dan Hodges))) ‏@DPJHodges

If Corbyn beats Owen Smith I don't see how May doesn't call an election next year. And that would be political armageddon for Labour.

George Eaton ‏@georgeeaton

Corbyn allies confident that most of the 183,541 registered supporter applicants back him.

(seems logical, has certainly energised the very socialist end of things)

perhaps, given that it has raised £4.6m in 48 hours, they should have a vote every year?

but, some views are a bit "out there"

"Ex-Labour MP Chris Williamson tells the rally many Labour MPs are Lynton Crosby 'sleepers' who've been activated to cause Labour 'civil war'"

Every Labour MP must be reselected for their seats after 2018 boundary review, Corbyn says.

Corbyn was all guns blazing this morning, claiming if he wins leadership again he will be Prime Minister and Lab MPs will have to back him

Corbyn, May, Trump, Clinton..

I just can't believe that these are the cream of the crop from what are arguably two of the most advanced countries in the world.
