Clive Lewis resignation prompts Labour leadership speculation

"The resignation of Clive Lewis, one of Jeremy Corbyn's most senior allies before he gave up his job in the shadow cabinet, has prompted speculation that the party leader could be poised to step down.

Mr Lewis's decision to leave the top team came as he admitted he could not bring himself to back Article 50 in the Commons because it would be bad for his constituents.

But the timing of the resignation caused rumours to swirl last night after Mr Corbyn's aides were forced to deny he has already agreed a date to handover the leadership to another politician."

Rising star Rebecca Long-Bailey promoted in Jeremy Corbyn's Shadow Cabinet reshuffle http://bit.ly/2kME9MA

she has beena  big springer in next leader markets in recent months, all the way down from 66/1

there are 232 Labour MPs. Corbyn has now had 4 reshuffles and 60 of those MPs have been in the shadow cabinet in his time as leader

No. of unemployment benefit claimants now lower than no. of job vacancies. Wasn't even true in '07 pre financial crash/peak of boom.

It is said to be the first occurrence of this in 50 years
