I have a feeling it might have been this thread where I read it but the 'article' which showed him on the floor was written by one of his supporters/pr people.

these hustings are throwing up some interesting storylines

Corbyn won't take part in Mirror, and Guardian debates as he believes they are biased http://huff.to/2b1GFhI

And the New Statesman too?

I saw a half page story and film the other day in The Guardian of Corbyn sat on the floor in a train.  He was saying something along the lines of if other commuters had to stand/sit on the floor then he should.

It wasn't until you read the bottom that you realised that the paper acknowleged the maker of the film was part of Corbyn's csmpaign and not some random on a train.

After I read it I was pretty sad about what The Guardian had become.

And his campaign still thinks The Guardian are still biased against him?  Making enemies of The Mirror just seems madness too.  People may hate it, but Blair realised you needed The Sun on side, this lot don't even seem to want tye left wing press onside.  I have read numerous complaints against the BBC on Corbyn propaganda twitter too.  The BBC didn't lead with Comrade Corbyn visited xyz trade union and met 100 cheering people kind of thing.

Will find the article later.

just remembered I never posted this

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/aug/16/jeremy-corbyn-floor-three-hour-train-journey-london-newcastle

and my favourite bit

The freelance filmmaker Yannis Mendez, who has been following Corbyn and volunteers for his campaign, filmed the footage.

Not sure you could get a more gushing article, goodness knows why the Corbyn supporters think they are the enemy.

Strongly suspect If I had been editor, I'd be telling them to get out and find some bloody news.

Bump.  Seems it is the "bloody news" after all.

Fwiw I googled Yannis Mendez at the time and he thinks his role is to create news stories to counter the media bias against Corbyn*.  He was giving a speech somewhere about it.  Funny old World.

* would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids

Was coach H First Class? He mentions not upgrading to get in an empty seat so he wasn't saying there were no seats but no standard seats which weren't reserved or occupied?

The last paragraph is nonsense, why would he sit in a reserved but unoccupied seat? I'm sure if the person who reserved it turned up there be an almighty row?

Owen Smith would have reserved a seat obviously, and claimed it on expenses. Smiley

Do you do ever travel by train? This statement is a bit odd - the reservations say where the journey is reserved from; if you've left that station and there isn't someone sitting in it then it's a free seat.

Does it really matter if there were seats available or not on this particular train?

I use this route every time I come to London and unless I have a seat reservation I'm only about 4/6 to get a seat.

I travel a lot by train. I always reserve a seat when I can and often see reserved seats which stay empty all journey, people get on, see the ticket and walk on by without looking where the reservation is from though Smiley

We are now in post-fact politics, it doesn't matter what the truth is.

https://www.equalitytrust.org.uk/taken-ride-how-uk-public-transport-subsidies-entrench-inequality

"Our report finds that:

In total the richest ten per cent receives £977.4 million in transport subsidy; the poorest ten per cent receives just £296.7 million.
Per household the richest ten per cent receives nearly double the subsidy of the poorest ten per cent, £294 per year compared to £162 for the poorest households.
For the rail system alone the richest ten per cent receives over three and a half times as much subsidy as the poorest ten per cent.
Certain regions like Wales and the North East receive far lower rates of subsidy than regions like London and the South East. A household in London benefits almost four times as much from rail subsidy as a household in Wales. However, per journey rail travel in Wales is approximately twice as subsidised as rail travel in London."

Actual evidence doesn't make the news so I appreciate his plight. I tend to sit/stand between carriages anyway because I'm lazy. I did book a first class ticket recently though. £22 didn't seem too bad, standard wasn't much cheaper.

Can anybody tell me what Theresa May has done to be so well regarded? She didn't seem to do too well as Home Secretary with her stance regarding policing being a touch controversial and she also completely failed in her target to reduce net immigration, so much so that it actually increased. She seems to have arrived in power because everyone else is terrible. Admittedly, it is a bit hard to say because I'm not exactly into watching bbc parliament and the only sources I could find where time.com and the Guardian. I must say looking at the prominent policies she has put forward the "safe pair of hands" does seem pretty optimistic and her cabinet choices back that up imo.

Pretty much it - she developed an aura of competence simply through managing to stay as Home Sec for 5 years without getting sacked.

She kept the job only because Cameron and his advisers thought incompetence played better with the electorate than high profile sackings. Her record speaks for itself.
