How do these people that can't take the heat under questioning get anywhere near elected office? The presenter teed her up perfectly by being incredibly obtuse. All she had to say was that Davis, Boris and Fox can't even speak with one voice on Brexit so its ridiculous to suggest that the 52% spoke with one voice on what path the government should follow to achieve Brexit.

Well played by the presenter showing up the chancers that don't do their homework

She is going to have a tough time in politics on that showing

Maybe you're not familiar with Theresa May? Winning whilst being utterly fucking useless is en vogue. The biggest gaffe in modern politics is any demonstration of knowledge or mental agility.

This.

Appealing to the lowest common denominator and creating a few decent catchprases which mean nothing but can be remembered by idiots ("Take Back Control!"or "Make America Great Again", that sort of thing) are decent ideas for a successful political career.

You must feel so superior knowing that the majority of the electorate are thick. Have you weighed your head recently?

When it comes to politics, you are a weird and incompetent man. I'd rather not address your jibes individually.

Yes a weird majority that is in power, go and enjoy the fact labour has no chance of getting in any time soon and Brexit will happen. But being the optimistic person you are I'm sure you are enjoying the fact your kind of politics will not happen any time soon....

I don't blame you for being upset about it btw, I understand all opinions even if I don't agree with them. If the boot was on the other foot I'd be pissed off also. I'm just lucky enough that in my views are largely represented by the Tories for now....

You're so dumb, it really is painful. Political allegiance should be irrelevant when they're this useless. We haven't had a worse government, ever and we have no opposition. It makes you happy?

lol love the name calling, it just means more voters are going to drift away from your side as has been proved recently so please carry on.

Can we have an agreement that you are rude or condescending to me at least once a week please?

Thanks, I appreciate your support for helping us get more votes

It's like you think something good is happening, while millions live in desperate poverty. Honestly wtf?

Yes politicians of all parties have been doing a terrible job :|

When people make the point that relative levels of poverty increase they usually ignore the points that they're often only comparing short term numbers - i.e. going up is a blip; more importantly relative poverty is often caused just by the rich getting richer. However bad you might think this is, it still doesn't usually involve the poor actually getting poorer.

FWIW even when they use the term 'absolute poverty' it's still actually defined in relative terms.

The summary point would be that there are millions of people living in poverty - but there always has been; and there are less now than before; and even then it's largely in terms of people struggling rather than the actually desperate poverty of developing countries.

You are correct to be fair.  The Tories management of the economy has been woeful.  Not sure why people wail that they make nasty cuts giving their borrowing record.

Quite. But equality doesn't have the same ring to it as poverty.  Recessions are great at reducing relative poverty.   Maybe we should aim for a permanent state of GDP contraction.

I am guessing an IFS report, but googling one of their reports shows AHC is after housing costs, and BHC is before housing costs.
