Labour's water renationalisation plans just won't wash | Nils Pratley

Jeremy Corbyn’s manifesto pledge would be expensive – a simpler remedy would be tougher regulation (which was said on here yesterday)

As is often mentioned, Theresa May’s teenage pinup was Geoffrey Boycott,

didnt know that!....but does make sense Wink

No one has yet predicted the double-century majority for Theresa May, but a 23-point lead in the West Midlands will be giving some Labour Cassandras nightmares in the 180s. A towering achievement, and all that. But honestly, what a way to go about it.

but no one will care how she did it in a few weeks time. It's all about the result....bit like poker  Smiley

Lib Dems are promising a 2nd referendum of leaving the EU after negotiations have finished.

Is this practicable, or just wishful thinking?

wishful thinking as they won't be in a government or a coalition to do anything about it

as the recent polls show, around 70% of respondents are leavers or are remainers saying "its done get on with it" and both Con and Lab are roughly on the same page so it feels like LD's (even though i am in the remain camp) are fighting a battle that is already in the rear view mirror

in the meantime they are hamstrung by the ukip collapse, vote going conservative, in the south west which is going to prevent them recovering much in seat terms

The pay squeeze is officially under way. Wages are rising at a slower rate than the cost of living
