About a month before the vote. Key facts section seems balanced to me.

Peston expands on Sunday Times report that Theresa May and her Cabinet are planning to tank the stock market and sterling to try and panic backbench MPs into supporting her Brexit deal.

(of course the more this is public knoweldge the less likely it is to happen as the market is a discounting mecahanism, ie moves take place before known events not in reaction to them)

Which is one of the reasons why I voted to leave. Getting anything done means compromises are made that rarely deliver the best option for anyone.

We will still have to negotiate with the EU when we've left.

EU/UK Political declaration

Here - in one paragraph - is every red line, still unresolved. It eloquently sets out why nothing, really, seems to have progressed

Why Theresa May is causing such Tory agony: the withdrawal agreement leaves the UK grappling with a choice between having control of its own rules & regulations, and preserving the economic integrity of the kingdom

institute for gov have gone through the Political Declaration and set out:

- What it says
- What that means
- Whether it is compatible w/ Chequers
- Whether it is compatible w/ EUCO guidelines (the FTA Brexiteers like)

Anyways, if we do have another Referendum I hope correct facts and guarantees about the future of the union are presented. Would be a bad decision to vote Remain and go down with a sinking ship, economic suicide mate.

I guess all the Remainers on here are aware of the Italian ticking time-bomb? Their government's refusal to conform to the EU's limits on debt as a proportion of GDP? Essentially, they've just cooked the books, and the Brussels diplomats appear to have lost their spines in enforcing said rules. It looks almost inevitable that Italy will be the next "Greek crisis" - and who's going to be picking up the pieces? Well it won't be us.

Doesn’t appear the deal will get through parliament

But looks like Spain may well veto before that point because of the Gibraltar issue

Highlights the big problem with EU. What works for 26 other countries doesn’t work for Spain.

They can't veto it.

Ha Ha the brexiters think that if Italy defaults Britain will be unaffected by the consequential massive recession and IMF bailout.

one country can’t block the WA. It needs a super-majority to pass at Council i.e 20/27 member states. A Spanish veto could block a future trade deal, as that’ll require approval from all member states as per their constitutional arrangements.

Of course no leaver, or remainer for that matter, took Ireland or Gibraltar and implications for both that seriously until after the fact

Both more or less unsolvable without unicorns (as yet undeveloped technological solution for irish border) and compromise (us or them need to do it, releasing sovereignty or not claiming it, on Gibraltar)

Funnily enough two/three treaties Utrecht 1692 (date may be wrong,1722?) and 1922 Anglo-Irish then GFA in practice much more important that 1973 EEC accession when it comes down to finalising a deal
