While the Spaniard has the club's best goals-per-minute ratio this term, at a stunning 111 minutes for every strike, David N'Gog is only fractionally behind. The Frenchman has also notched in some vital games.
So, while Liverpool have missed their no.9, I don't think you can expect much more from any understudy. (All the hysteria over Michael Owen this week, and it's easy to overlook that even after that hat-trick, N'Gog has a better goals-per-game record this season, and even more so in Premiership matches.)
Another good goal and another very good performancefor N'gog. I'm really starting to rate him.

That was fking pathetic Liverpool, one of the worst displays I've seen for a long time , the team looks so stale, lacking fight and passion. Something drastic needs to be done

Pains me to say it,but the club seem to be regressing instead of progressing.

I'd love to spend a day inside Rafa's mind because he really does baffle me.
Going away to the team bottom of the league and he plays Dossena(who is a very ordinary left-back) on the left-wing,leaving both Benayoun and Babel on the bench.
Then a goal down at half-time and he waits until 5 minutes into second half to bring Benayoun on? Why not make it at half-time and try to hit the ground running straight from the off?
He then brings on a left-back for a left-back in Aurelio.
And finally with 5 minutes plus injury time remaining he brings on Jay Spearing, leaving both Babel and N'gog sat on their arse on the bench?
The man is a mystery.

As it stands Liverpool are 13 points off top spot in the prem ... they are also 13 points from the bottom.
That was todays useless fact, I am here all day.

I mean I cant see who was totally fit etc, but I agree that the starting XI today was awful if those on the bench were fit.
Aurelio and Benayoun should have started down the left.

More to the point though even this XI should have hammered Pompey. Sigh!

If he'll come. I think that's the problem with the top manaers out there. They are in jobs they like.
