Liverpool XI: Jones, Toure, Lovren, Skrtel, Lucas, Gerrard, Coutinho, Henderson, Lallana, Sterling, Markovic.

Substitutes: Mignolet, Lambert, Sakho, Moreno, Manquillo, Can, Borini.

No recognised striker again.  What the hell was the point of buying  Lambert if you are not going to play him.

I've never heard of a sell on clause expiring.  Any examples?

They don't run indefinitely. If they did you'd just get players told to Bosman before resigning for the same club. And they're more intricate than "we have a sell on clause".

Giovanni Dos Santos couldn't be sold for 3/4 years because of this when at Spurs. There is an issue with Kiko at Espanyol. It happens more on the continent than here tbf.

There is no way if I owned Bale and had a 30% sell on clause to Saints that I would let his contract run down on the "understanding" that he would re-sign on a Bosman.  A club would never risk that on a gentleman's agreement!

Spurs bought Santos for 6 million Euros + 5 million of potential addons.  They sold him to Mallorca for 1 million Euro and 50% of next transfer fee.

Don't think the sell on clause was much of an issue with this one!

Yes, it was 'only' Bournemouth, and yes for some reason they'd decided to use a half-court press instead of pressurising our nervous and vulnerable defenders when they had the ball - but it was still a lovely goal.

Anyone know, or it is even recorded, what the highest number of passes to a goal is?

52 has got to be up there?
