Gone are the days before the WC where it was in Brendan we trust.

Has Ancelotti ever managed a mid table team before?

Never in doubt

Yeah, easy peasy.

What's the problem there Mr Rap Rap Rapper, & what's the answer?

Might be recency bias, but my memory tells me that for the better part of my life, Liverpool have been serial winners - a big, big, club.

There were mutterings over the previous owners, maybe rightly so, but FSG seem like good owners to me.

I can't recall them being quite so in the doldrums as this.

How are they going to turn it round?

As to Mr Rodgers, we armchair critics are way too quick to dismiss the ability of others these days I'm afraid.

Rodgers has been called everything from a pig to a dog. That's so wrong, he is a good man, & a good Manager, for sure.

Whether he is good enough for Liverpool, of course, is another matter altogether.

I think he is a very good coach but i am unsure how good a manager he is.

His time at Anfield has been flattered by one excellent season - a perfect storm .

Suarez was irresistable ,Sterling looked every bit a £40m player ,Sturridge seemed to hit every shot on target (and stayed relatively fit),Henderson was tireless ,the defence were pretty decent and Stevie had 3 or 4 months when he was absolutely at the peak of his career.

He coached the team through that 13/14 season, made them stand tall and believe etc.

Now he'a had to manager the team, and it's noy quite worked

Saw this last night, Ridic stats really. However I'm a beleiver that against such lower division teams you should create and be so dominant, that even if their keeper as the best game of his life, and our forward have their worst ever, should still win at least 1-0, however unluck your night is.

Im a Carlisle fan and we expected a spanking as the Liverpool team was very strong and not a mix of youth/academy/fringe players some Liverpool fans thought should have started and still got the job done.

These guys showed the difference in class/skill level on the night as they gave Carlisle the run around as the possession shows but as for finishing the stats show how poor they were.

Carlisle put in a sterling rearguard which is all most teams at our level can attempt to do and try to nick a winner on the break.

Methinks Brendan does have his days numbered though.

If he came to England, there are only a small, select band of Clubs he would go to., & that may include Liverpool. I think it more likely he has his eyes on Man C or Arsenal, with the latter more likely. Arsenal are long term planners, & wise heads, and they must be thinking about long-term succession plans soon. Arsene is 65.

I think we should savour this market.

It may be the last time Sven is quoted for a job, just has he has been for every big job for the last 25 years.
