This ought to be a cracker.

Hope it's the game it promises to be, and Liverpool are back to their sizzling best.

The classic Tikay bok.

Did enjoy it though. Carra was right saying that it's impressive that Liverpool are equal top, without any of the front 3 firing and having played Spurs, Chelsea and City. I was expecting a lovren howler all game to gift City 1-0 (and there were two risky moments that could have been pens) he made some crucial tackles late on and it was VVD of all people to make the big mistake.

Lucky to get a point I think, even though we did cancel each other out a bit and only 2 shots a piece told the story of the match somewhat.

A somewhat underwhelming performance away to Huddersfield yesterday, & perhaps lucky not to have conceded at least 1 against a team who almost never score.

Even so, without quite gelling, it was another win & the stats now say just 3 goals conceded in 9 games, which includes some biggies against the likes of Man C, Chelsea & Spurs. For the first time in many a year, they look solid at the back.

Goal difference v the leaders is becoming a worry, but it's clear Liverpool are now the real deal.

Next up, CL in midweek.

Only on 5 occasions in PL history have teams bettered 23 points after 9 games.
This is the 1st time 2 teams have hit 23 points at this stage of the season.

Irrespective of how Arsenal get on tomorrow it is the the most dominant start by the top 5 at this stage of the season and the PL looking more polarised than ever. In terms of money there is c50% increase for CL teams this season so the domination looking likely to continue. Good or bad?

And yes, defensively Liverpool are very, very good.

We are playing really poor on the attacking front at the moment will be dangerous when we start clicking going forward, look rock solid at the back when Gomez plays at cb lovren just has a ricket in him I’m afraid but saying all that level with Man City and nowhere near our best good signs.

Liverpool 2-0 down at half time away to Red Star Belgrade.

Been a while since they have been 2 down at half time.

It must have been that softening-up treatment last Sunday.

Liverpool have equalled their club-record for the fewest goals conceded after 12 top-flight fixtures (5), last doing so in the 1978/79 season
