I do hope that this "beard thing" is blond a la Abel Xavier.

More grey, I'd say, but same area.
I'm trying to do "designer stubble", like him in Lightning Seeds, or Ian Botham, but I can't get the balance right as to length. It's possibly a tad long right now.

congratulations on Viva Las Vegas
I know these things are tough to finalise, all downhill from here...
I had no input to it, but yes, quite a thing - 35 Vegas WSOP packages, which is quite something.
Meanwhile, I'm heading up to the UKPC shortly, & will be there every day for trhe duration, except this Sunday, when I am doing the TV show.
It's all happening Next Door.
35 packages is bonkers in today's market. Respec
30 side event packages too.
Bet you'll have some logistical nightmares with that one.
5 main event packages no? 35 in total including side events?
Confused by this. Thought it was illegal to advertise foreign gambling in the UK.

Thanks! That one passed me by. Should really have known that...

apropros nothing really, but it interested me.........
I was ear-wigging the girls chit-chatting in "Make Up" department last night, & ended up chatting to this young lady......
Her name is Joanna Charnley, & she seems to be connected with something grandly named "Bath Academy of Media Makeup", or "BAMM" for short. Ish.
http://bathmediamakeup.co.uk/
Anyway, the thing was, I heard her discussing Boxing of all things.
Bla bla, & it turned out she is the daughter of one of the all time British Boxing legends, Dave Charnley.
Only Karabiner would be old enough to remember Dave, but he was a proper boxer, all heart, & very famous back in the day. He later went into business, & made a good few bob, but the final bell rang for him in 2012.

Good luck with your Skypoker comp Tony.
Thanks Phil.
It got off to a decent start on Friday & Saturday, but I had to miss Sunday, as I got called down to London to do the Show.
Nice atmo, that's the main thing, & the numbers were right on forecast.
Spent a ton of time with Rob & Simon discussing this & that, the detail involved is endless.
Bit if a disaster for Rob & Co on Monday, of course, with the probs they had on Party. I really felt for Rob, to be honest. These things happen, they just do, but that was THE nut worst night for it to occur.
Students of psychology & human nature would reap a rich harvest from the "Party Poker Down" thread. Some people took it in their stride, to others it was the end of the world.
It's an irritant, of course it is, but as poker players, we are not long on tolerance. Some of the rudeness was well out of line, they all know Rob would not abandon them.
Tough gig, running a poker room.

After reading this I went back and read the comments. My comments in particular come across like a baby throwing his toys out the pram...
Not intentional though, must of been emotional :-)

I certainly remember Dick Tiger so he's not made up.
I definitely remember Dave Charnley(proper boxer's hooter that) who I seem to recall was cruising towards winning a World Title c1963/4 when a big underdog only to get caught in one of the later rounds and the fight was stopped.

In the above post I think I may well have mixed up Dave Charnley with Terry Downes who was a great fighter of the same era, but a middle-weight.
Funnily enough I just googled Terry Downes and he fought the aforementioned Dick Tiger quite early in his career in what was reportedly a "brutal fight". When he was asked after the bout who he would like to fight next, he replied "the bastard who made this match" referring to his then manager Mickey Duff.

Did you get to that ICE thing? I went yesterday. My impressions was that it was, as Camel would say, a bit of a 'circlewank'. I can't see how any actual business gets done at the stalls themselves.
A ton of business gets done. It's more the uni club at the end of the night theory. Basically you know that everyone is going to be in the same place at the same time so you're definitely going to find somebody. Lots of meeting get arranged beforehand etc.
It's pretty much the only global event for the sector that you know everyone will be at.
Oh completely agree, I meant literally at the stalls themselves. My guess, zero business.
Barry - in my experience the most interesting stuff that occurs at shows like Ice takes place in tiny meeting rooms on / behind (or above for Playtech!) the stands....and that's previews of upcoming product releases.
Tikay - I had one day down there...and at one point was sat for a coffee with six of seven of the Leeds (and ex Leeds) contingent. Nothing planned, just ships passing, so to speak. I met Steve Downer on the train platform at closing and he had a call from Nick Rust while we were on the train, who was stood in a corner of the carriage. A small industry as we say.
