My car goes in for Service tomorrow, too, prior to it's final departure. The geezer at Heathrow BMW said "we'll collect it from your office at 0930, & bring it back at Noon". He wishes.
Lights
Brakes
Tyres
Wipers
The Mother & Father of all Car Valets.
I'm ashamed of the mess it's in, I really am. Cars are just tools to me, tools to do a job, but even so, it's a disgrace. When I play at DTD I hide it across at the Cinema, in case Regards spots it & gets on my case. He's a great lad, but if he sees the car in that mess....
How much you reckon this Service will cost (it's 11,000 miles "over" the Service Mileage) including tyres & brake linings & bits? I think I'd settle for a grand here & now, ffs.
It's done, 137,000 miles, & never ONCE failed me. I don't even know how to open the bonnet.
Up the Germans.
Car servicing is the biggest rip off since snake oil.
Bung me a monkey and I'll have a look at it for you.
Have tools, will travel.
A monkey to
look
at it?
It's a Beemer! You can't touch a Beemer! Not allowed.
When you go for a BMW Service, the weirdest thing happens.
The geezer says "take a seat", then he plugs your
car key
into a Laptop thing, & starts reading off what needs doing. The car might be 100 miles away, but he cab reel off exactly what needs dloing. How cool is that?
And to be serious, I've never paid more than £250 for it to be Serviced, excluding Tyres & stuff. And I get it Serviced every year, without fail.

Love it! Tikay aren't you disappointed that Krafts have taken over Cadburys though, we are losing the 'Great' in Great Britain, not much British quality left nowadays. And have you sampled Krafts chocolate average at best no match for a Cadburys chocolate bar.
I might write to Tim Westwood for you Tikay, I think I want to pimp your ride. What dya say? On the grounds that you let me ride 'shotgun' in the new pimp mobile AIIIII!!

The problem I have with blonde sometimes, given the amount of sarcasm & cynicism which I think you'll agree exists here, is that my default setting is "yeah, right".
And when I think that way, I feel a little ashamed, a bit bad. But when I take things at face value, & get whooshed, I feel rather silly.
I think you - misguidedly - mean that, & I'm very grateful, as I was for G2Loose's similar comment. Thank you.
I want to write a lot more - I adore writing - & have so many stories I want to tell.
I spend a lot of time over at the other place, & they look after me handsomely, so it's right that I should. But it's a completely different mindset over there, I have to don a different head completely. I answer questions, try to keep the peace, set the mood & tone, even have an "Ask tikay" Thread (!) which I'm really rather proud of. And I Blog for them. But I don't Diary over there, & I like to Diary.
I want to discipline myself to spend an hour a day on my Diary. That's all it needs, really.
I've actually been prodded a lot to write a book, but that's awkward, because it would upset & offend so many if I spilt the beans.
Alan Bennett wrote a book called "Untold Stories", I think, & what he did was to change the names to protect the
guilty
innocent. I'm not sure that'd work, somehow.

Neither - I should have written "spill the beans".
And Cos said I wrote beautifully. Sigh, the moment was so brief. Like sex, in some ways.

Just change the names. or give a description that highlights the important aspects of the character.
For instance, instead of saying "Tony Kendall" you just say "Grumpy old bloke with a limp" and no one would be the wiser.

Hehe, I've been sorting out a few names in that style already.
I already have a man from Texas who plays Texas who features quite heavily. But we don't have a problem.

You really must do this, if only because...

You read too much into these things Dr Kendall.
We're not actually making any reference to your writing at all in terms of your diary etc, it's just that whenever anyone seems to write anything more than a paragraph long (except for Mantis obv) you say 'Keep this up, we need more of this stuff on here', hence a few of us did the same in here. Just a light hearted joke - though a book from you would be great - yes pls.
And as for the other place, well, I doubt any of them would die for you. Just last night Cottonbud was telling me how he'd happily jump infront of a bus if you asked him to. That's blonde spirit.

Do you remember the old 1950's TV series Dragnet, Tony ?
"The Names Have Been Changed To Protect The Innocent" was their hook-line.

Bugger. My first instincts were right. Now I feel silly. I guess G2Loose whooshed me, too.
