Two.
Mushrooms.
Those great big buggers. (Left of photo).
I got 4 of them - 300g in weight - but the whole 300g only equates to 48 kcals! Incredible eatage value.
I've never had them before, as I thought they were vegetables, but they are not, so they are fine.
Tomorrow, I'll be trying a new diet-special meal - pineapples & mushrooms, & to hell with MANTIS & his pineapple hate.
I bet Karabiner has had a few mushrooms in his time. Magic stuff.
I adore mushrooms especially those big buggers the "field" mushrooms as I call them although they've probably never seen a field in their lives. I must confess to have lost my fondness for the psilocybin variety which I formerly found so enchanting. I think they must be a young man's mushroom.
I like to fry those big field mushrooms in some garlic butter gills-down first for about five minutes each side.
A little crusty white bread to mop up the juices and you have a meal fit for a king.
Yum yum.

Weekly Weigh-In.
Monday March 12 - 14st 0lbs
Monday March 19 - 13st 8lbs
Monday March 26 - 13st 2lbs
Monday, April 2nd - 12st 12lbs
Monday April 9th - 12st 10lbs.
Monday April 16th - 12st 8lbs
Would not have been disappointed if I only lost 1lb this week, so 2lbs was a nice surprise. The weight loss is 1st 6lbs in exactly 5 weeks so far.
The original target was 13st by April 28th, then revised down to 12st 7lbs, so I have a fortnight to lose another pound. Easy-peasy. After that, the target is 12st by June 17th.
If only I could bet on achieving, or not, a target weight loss, it'd be bet of the year. In fact, I'd do a double, linking the loss to putting all of it back on inside 6 months. I'd send the bookies skinto.

Today, the monster £1 million UKIPT begins, at DTD, & I'm playing it - vicariously.
Work means I don't play so many Tourneys these days, & I'm shite anyway, but I still get my kicks from staking others when work gets in the way of burning my money by playing. I'm working this week, so UKIPT was never on my calendar, unfortunately.
So I went a bit silly on UKIPT, & set out to buy one whole entry, but in pieces of others, & it worked out pretty well in the end. Or it will if any of them cash.
My action is as follows....
cf - 10%
Eso Kral - 10% (plus the same in a £110 sidey).
Red - 25%
leethefish - 10%
Methuselah - 25%
AdamM, 10%
ACE2M 10%
On top of that, I have some private (off-forum) stakes in 4 different players, amounting to another 45% in total. Overspent, then.
ACE2M, sadly, has had to withdraw, so that cash comes back into the returns column.
Quite how I missed buying a piece of Camel I don't know - his thread coincided with my absence from blonde because of business pressure elsewhere, bugger, but I wish him well, too. He has also sold action in the High Roller.
I've also been asked overnight to sell on part of one of my stakes, & I've asked the player if he minds - I don't think he will - so I might have got some cash back before it starts.
Quite important that, because, in accounting terms, when I buy action, I write down (write off) the investment to zero immediately. Any return then goes in the profit column, to balance against the loss column. So, I have a good few % back already. A weird way of looking at it, & probably wrong, but I like to do it in a businesslike fashion as to the accounting.
All "my" players play on Days 1b & 1c, though I'm not sure what day the horse shit sandwich will be on the menu.
Good luck to all of them. Please.
In a few days time, I'll either look very smart, or like one of these.....
Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, I don't have to pay you when I get the lot then
Pay attention Mondy!
On top of that, I have some private (off-forum) stakes in 4 different players, amounting to another 45% in total
You were amongst those. Not that it seems to have helped. If people contact my via PM as to staking, I'm not sure it's right to mention it.
Not sure who - if any - I still have left, think just 2 or 3 still in. My lucky money has gone a bit cold.
How was the Tourney, anyway?
Never got going, was upto 20k then ran 99 into bb 65hh on a 652cc710 board, lots a little there then had following hand vs Sam Razavi, I open button A8os he just peels from BB, ch/ch A76r, as Ben Jenkins said afterwards I should just cb here and take the lower variance line but I decided to check as I knew Sam would see this as weak and try to put me in tough spots, he c/r a Q turn, I call, 3/4 pot on brick river and once I call turn have to call river and expect to be good vs Sam here a lot, he had AQ. Checking flop is my only mistake in hand imo and although agree with Ben/Jack that cb flop was best I didn't mind my line. Very next hand I have 10bbs in co, I somehow find A9hh when I'm jamming atc, Sam finds 1010 in bb, gg us.
Sorry no return, Marbellaaaaaaaaaa starts Friday though, this hangover should be gone by then so hopefully do some wins.

Will you be filling up on Seabass this afternoon?
Umm, remind me who or what Seabass is.
Good to see you last night, you seem to have lost a bunch of weight. Not sure pink shirts suit you though.
Nirvana came to my DC cash Table later, I showed him a few tricks.
Vinni has lost half a stone! Or that is what he told me.
Second-fav for the National obv. Absolutely will not stay 4m4f though. The days when 2m4f horses could win a National are over. Max place lay short IR.
T-shirt was not pink, not Dennis The Menace's and not bought from Jacamo. Passes for high fashion on market days round here just so you all know.
Oh,...... a Grand National horse.
Nah, I have not bet on the GN for many decades, probably not since the eighties. Luckily, nobody on the "tikay Tips" gave me any GN tips, either. I assumed "Seabass" was someone to do with Bev Pace.
I can't bear to watch the National, either, I wince every time a horse falls badly. Eventually, I worked out that - for me - it was just not fun to watch. I've seen many a horse die in horseracing, & I understand that it happens, there are worse things in life, but to see a horse with a broken leg just "flapping" around is just too much to bear.
I've gone soft in my dotage.
I have some "fun" selections in the Aintree tipping thread, & a few sweepstakes, but I'll not be watching.
I can relate to this, I used to love going racing but it all stopped for me when Gorgeous George had to be put down. I've never been since, nor had a bet until this National as I had a horse in a local poker league game. Wish I'd never bothered tbh, didn't/couldn't watch it, too painful for me now. I've joined the wusses club I think.

I know it's strange but I can only handle pizzas and nothing stronger. All these dishes I see in restaurants that are made with cheese I try on occasion but haven't been able to get on with

Just seen something that although a little strange, is an incredible technical achievement.
Within the last few days at a music festival in the USA called Coachella, the audience were left stunned when who should appear live on stage and perform a few tracks, none other than Tupac!
If the appearance and performance didn't blow the crowds mind his stage exit at 4:44 must have.
Article on how it was achieved.

Vegas trip - BOOKED
Flight - BOOKED
Hotel - BOOKED
Media Pass - RECEIVED
ESTA - SORTED
Outbound - SUNDAY 17th JUNE
Homebound - FRIDAY 13th JULY
17th June to 2nd July inclusive, playing.
3rd July - 13th July - working.
Can't wait, counting the sleeps.
Just got to decide what to play, now.
It is between....
Daily Venetian &/or Caesars Deepies. Nice Tourneys, but all, or mostly, NLH.
Shop around for Omaha & mixed game Tourneys. There are a few, mostly quite small, but thats OK.
Play a few WSOP Omaha &/or 8 or better Tourneys. Very tempting, but at a few thousand $$$'s a throw, slightly worrying, I could easily drop $10k quickly.
Play more Omaha & 8 or better cash. Tempting, too. I made good money at these last year, but found table selection crucial.
Likely to take around $10,000 or so, seems a bit daft to take more, as it is so easy to let it slip through the fingers in Vegas, & I don't want to be sulking for the next 3 months at being daft with money if I lose it.
Decisions, decisions.
The work period will be good, too. We expect to take 8 or 10 players with us, with 2 of us to host them, so that's a comfortable ratio.
Plan to do more Interviews to camera, for You Tube this year - we got vey good "clicks" for these last year - &, as usual, daily blogs, which also get excellent clicks, & these got more daily hits the longer I did them. They are almost spam free, which helps, too. I have done a few pieces for the poker print media already, & these include puff for the videos & blogs, so I'm hopeful for good numbers. It's these things which help justify the cost of sending me there, so they are very important.
Once again, the costs of the trip - poker excepted - are being paid for by next door, which is an amazing thing. I don't plan to let them down though, & will give them good value.
I'm excited! Don't think that's supposed to happen at my age.

Before Vegas - in less than 3 weeks, in fact - I'm off to this place.....
A few days there, but the most important part is a train jouney from there, one of THE most beautiful train journeys on earth, right along the Med coast, which I have yearned to do again for many years, to here......
Once there, Lunch will be partaken outdoors at one of the most beautiful & relaxing eateries ever, here.....
Likely meal will be Spag Bol, Fench style (they invented it, so it should be passable), though I doubt it will be up to my culinary standarrds. Sometimes you just have to rough it.

I will Tom, as I smugly sit upstairs on sit on a 747.
Where are you cycling to?
PS - I'm tempted to go up & play the little £100 jobbie at DTD tomorrow? You up for that? Its only a one day thing, but should be nice & chilled up there this week, after last weeks bursting-at-the-seams-ness. In fact it should be bursting-at-the-seams-ness-less.

I took Pops on that very journey last summer Tony, diff class. We actually sat bang in the middle of that photo too, where the grey haired guy is standing, Cafe de Paris, MC.
Have you ever been to Cannes, if not I suggest you don't. Get the train to Sheffield on a sunny day and walk around near the Crucible, its roughly the same, tho if you do feel a degen need Cagne Sur Mer, is the other way along the coast
Do you remember back in the day that a few flat horses used to go there early in the new year to build up a nice fitness edge for to be exploited back home when the flat season started here in early March?
I think Simon Dow used to make a few quid sending his horses from Epsom to race there.

I'm hoping to cycle to the cemetery where my grandparents (Both sets) my dad, and my son are buried.
I'm pretty confident of making the 75 miles there, but I will be into unknown territory, (distance-wise) on the way back.
DTD tomorrow? I don't know yet. I have to attend a big fat Gypsy wedding today so I'll have to see how it goes.
