Best of luck Tony I would have bought a small piece had I known any was available.
At least this way you are free of my bokkage
I seemed to cope quite well
sans
your bokkage, Ralph, but thank you.
I had not planned or intended to sell any action, as I really don't like to ask, but as it happened, three splendidly ill-advised individuals - including one female - contacted me when they heard I was playing & asked for some action.
As you know, when I play in Vegas, a regular bunch of friends ask every year for some vicarious interest, & we did OK last year, so, hopefully, I may do so again this year on the same basis if you or they are interested.
Doobs has already reserved some repeat action in one of the WSOP $1,500 PLO8 jobbies, & I hope to play the second $1,500 WSOP PLO8 too, & maybe even the $3,000 version. I would only play 4 card games, & when not getting above my station in those 3 WSOP Events, I'll be mostly playing the $200, $400 Omaha & related game affairs around town, mainly at Golden Nugget & Binions. So if you are THAT desperate to have some action, I may be able to oblige.
There endeth the staking thread.
Before everyone rushes to buy all the action........I had better do the Tournament Report I promised my investors for this week's debacle. "Sell".

Yes please, I'll be delighted to take 5% of you Vegas action should it be available.
I wish I could join you but it's not looking very likely at the moment so having a small piece of your action is the next best thing to actually going.

BOOKED, before you change your mind.
Lovely, tyvm. It will, as always, be at par of course.
I'm still not certain to be able to go, life is a bit complicated right now, but my heart is set on being there.
If I do get there, as you know from previous years, I'll do a Blog every day, though I may be nice, & spare you one day a week.....

Tourney Report, £500 (+ 1 "mandatory" Rebuy or Add-On) PLO8 EPT Sidey.
"mandatory" because we got 8,000 starting chips, but 16,000 for the Rebuy/Add-on.
I had not played a live PLO8 Tourney since Vegas last year. With the passing of time, I now realise 2012 Vegas was the best poker experience of my life, bar none. I play a little PLO8 Online now, just $10 or $20 Rebuys, maybe a $200 once a week, & I hold my own, without setting the world on fire.
So I was pretty excited to be playing Live, & a "big" Tourney too. £1,000 is very big for me these days, & I currently have some serious issues with my Bank because of that bloody Wonga affair, which has worsened considerably since I last Posted. Anyway, I somehow got hold of the £1,000, & off I went.
I used to play a lot of poker - too much, & soon we take its pleasures for granted, but I don't play so much now, & when I do, I am like a kid in a sweet shop. Every hand I am dealt comes with hope & anticipation, every flop is something to relish seeing, every bet is exciting. I know it sounds silly, but thats how it is for me, & I love it being that way. "Habit" poker sucks.
And I was SO excited, my hands were trembling & shaking dreadfully, so much so that I decided to effectively sit out the first few orbits whilst I calmed myself down.
More to follow......long posts make the eyes bleed, so I'll break the monotony.

I noticed there is an $1100 5 card big O at the Venetian the day before the $3k plo8 at the WSOP. I have never played it but it can't play much different from PLO8 can it? Or am I going to be a fish in that game? Think there is a $ 230 plo8 at the golden nugget that day. There is a $3k NL event in the wsop that day, but any edge is likely to be small in that. Bracelet tho.
Just count me anything up to about $1k or so Tony. Happy to just take 10% or 20 % or so of the bigger ones. Whichever you prefer. Guess there is no point in selling 20% of a $200 event though.

Can I also take 5% of your Vegas action? Last year's trip was entertaining to follow, and profitable!

Books & covers......
We form impressions, often terribly wrong, when we first see a person.
She/he looks a right so & so....
I saw this story recently, nothing special. The highlighted parts made me doubt the woman for some reason, it all sounded a bit precious.....
A BARRISTER who claims Harvey Nichols security staff assaulted her after she tried to take a "tiny" dog into the Knightsbridge department store in her handbag is suing the company for up to £1 million.
Marianne Yvette Perkins, 42, has launched a writ against the department store for damages, alleging she was held in a "vice like grip" by between four and six members of staff before being wrongly held for assaulting a security guard.
She adds that her Maltese puppy, Lilly, was elbowed during the incident in September 2010.
The insolvency barrister's case comes after Harvey Nichols launched a new advertising campaign, ironically featuring tiny dogs in handbags.
In documents filed with London's High Court and reported by the Evening Standard, Perkins's barrister, Henrietta Hill, claims the 42-year-old was accosted shortly after entering Harvey Nichols at 4.30 pm.
According to the writ, Perkins was approached by a female security guard who spotted Lilly strapped inside the handbag she was carrying over her shoulder. When the guard told her to leave the store because dogs were not permitted, a row ensued.
"Miss Perkins then asked the guard why the store had a problem with such a tiny dog secured in a handbag", the writ states. "The guard refused to answer the question and became angry. Miss Perkins joked that she was behaving a bit like that 'computer says no' comedy sketch on television."
The writ says Perkins then left the store and headed over to Knightsbridge tube station to meet a friend. As she descended the stairs, she was surrounded by four to six security guards.
The men allegedly used "vice-like grips" on her upper arms and "jabbed their elbows" into the lawyer and her puppy.
According to the writ, she was then dragged up the stairs and detained until police arrived to arrest her over claims she had punched the female security guard in the face.
The police did not charge Perkins because it was clear no assault had taken place.
Perkins said she developed post traumatic stress disorder and depression after the incident, which has affected her career
All fair enough I suppose.
The highlighted parts made me doubt the woman for some reason, it all sounded a bit precious.....
We can't take much of a view from that, though, & we could not safely predict who was the guilty party, could we?

.....and then, I saw her photo.
Instant verdict. Nutcase.
Which is a terrible thing to think, or say.
But I bet we all do the same thing.
If YOU saw the photo, would it sway your opinion either way?
She might just be the most level-headed, fair & rational being ever for all we know.

That is amazingly generous of you David, thank you. We can confirm the nuts & bolts nearer ther time, when I know what I am doing.
Generally, I set a spend limit, & ALL Tourneys within the total count. Last year I said I hoped to get away with $5,000, but that it may rise to $10,000 at tops. As luck would have it, we binked early, so although we went over $5,000, we were using our profits. I think I won nearly as much in small Tourneys as I did in the one big one I played. We can sort it later, when I know better where I am with things. If anyone wants to set an upper spend limit, or just buy for specific Tourneys, that is fine of course.
My preferred spend limit this year would again be $5,000, but if we bink early......
I think the 5 Card Big O would be enormous value. I had not planned to play it (never knew it existed), but it must be a consideration. I played a good bit of 5 Card Big O cash at the Venetian the year before last, & there was value to be had, but there were a small bunch of local Pros who were playing together & chopping up the profits afterwards, so they had to be swerved. That apart, few folks seem to understand the dynamics.
The difference between 4 & 5 card is enormous, we effectively have 10 x 2 card combos in our hand, instead of the usual 6, & with it being Hi-Lo, it can get a bit bet-heavy. For me, it is very much a nuts or draw to nuts game, & calling with 2nd/2nd will rarely be advisable. Gotta go for them scoops.
