I fly Monday next, in 6 days, 23 hours precisely. That flight has departed late for the last 4 days, but is reported as departing 7 minutes early today.  Virgin Atlantic, yes.

Not that useful for those flying Upper but may be useful for your diary readers flying cattle to Vegas.

piscine, Latin for fish or pertaining

piscine decomposition - rotting fish

Piscine was of course made famous as the first name of the protagonist in Yann Mantel's Life of Pi

the young man's name was Piscine Molitor, and the other lads called  him "Pissing" so he shortened his name to Pi

great book, top 10 book in fact

Also, you will know of the constellation Pisces, perhaps because of the star sign (twelfth sign of the Zodiac) and that it is represented by two fish.

The fish represent Aphrodite and Eros, who, in Greek mythology, escaped Typhon (a proper baddie, if ever there were one) by turning themselves into fish. They stayed together by use of a rope. If you see the constellation Pisces, you really only see the rope, but the rest is added on by imagination (or perhaps we had clearer skies back then...)

Apologies if this has been posted before, but it's new to me. For some reason when I saw it I thought you would enjoy this immensely if it happened on your Virgin filght

When will we have the first report?

The day after my first Tourney, which is Tuesday, fingers crossed, so, given the time difference, it'll be Wednesday afternoon here.

It'll not be "conventional" Tourney Reports, just sort of observational stuff, usually concluding with "did no good".  Certainly won't be Hand Histories or bad beat moaning, might throw in some concrete stories, photos of sticky buns, & glitter gulches though. Might be brief in-running stuff on my Twitter feed, too, "@Tony_Kendall".

Enjoyed your piece on Olympic AirWays/Lines/Air.

I don't care about actual HH. Its the whole buzz and Vegas experience that matters.

I know I am already flushing money down the toilet. :-D

I always enjoyed your blogs from Vegas next door. I expect some photos during the flight to see how the new interior of the B747 looks like.

Regarding the Olympic story, I got banned from flying with the airline for a year because I woke up a pilot during a flight from Athens to Johanesburg. I was only 5 back then.
Whenever I flew with the airline I spend most of the time in the cockpit. When my Father was in charge I spend the whole journey in the cockpit even take off and landing. That was pre September 11 though. Nowadays no one is allowed to enter the cockpit. I also know that some US First Officers are trained and allowed to carry guns in the cockpits.

Upper? Good Lord, I can but dream.

Was it you that mentioned Mount Charlston? I've had a good bone up on that, & it looks perfect for a day trip. Got a little "Lodge" up there where one can partake of Afternoon Tea, or a hot dog or whatever. Even got a ski resort. Can you imagine, a ski resort, 35 miles from Las Vegas? Remarkable.

Not I, closest I've been to Vegas is a visit to the Grand Canyon as a kid. About 15 years ago I went to Scottsdale on business and for something to do at the weekend, visited this place - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosphere_2 - Now that was remarkable.

I sold a house this weekend for someone who works in "CONCRETE SUPER STRUCTURE!"

I will find out who he works for but am sure you and he would get on great pops.

Oh and GL in LV...

Sold 127.5% so far.  Isn't planning on getting past level 1, but going to have a ball
