After the DTD Tourney, I sat in a £2 £2 DC Game, & in the main, it was fairly playable, with a few decent players, Wadey, Basha, Pete Conduit, and one complete numpty, a sort of Bingo Bill, who doubled up my £200 sit-down very first hand.
We had only been playing a short while, & stacks were still shallow, most had sat down with £200 or £250, & I had about £400, thanks to the early 2xup.
Then this happened.....
I select 6 Card Hi-Lo.
It goes, as per, £2, called in every spot, (5), I call unthinkingly on the Button.
The BB then pops it to £10, again, Called everywhere, & like a sheep, I Call too. Well, you never know, was my unthinking thinking.
I am holding

Hard to excuse the Call really - this is 6 Card, & my hand has very limited scope to improve, or have hope of extensions, it's a very "flat" hand, & this is, after all - 6 card, when the Nuts are needed. So yes, a shocking Call really.
We see this flop.....

Hmm. Top set - temporary nuts. Might be able to pinch this.
Then all hell breaks loose. SB Pots it, £60 I think. Called in FOUR Spots.
Wow.
What to do? Well it can improve to a boat, but otherwise, that's it. The flush draw must be dead. I am holding three (7-7-4) of my own outs. There's no low-draw really.
I decide I can take it here & now it, & Pot it, about £350.
My heart sank, when it went Call, Call, Call, Call, Call......
Oops.
Well, we do have the temporary nuts, but can it hang on?
And what has everyone else got? Any clues, I never found out?.
I guess someone is on the nut flush draw, someone the 2nd nut flush draw, middle set, maybe two of them have a wrap around the J-9, & perhaps some optimist called for value with A-2 or somesuch.
The turn was, I thought, a bad Card - 3.
So I'm holding another of my outs now, & what's more, the Low-Draws have now come into play.
I'm really not sure how many bullets I have to dodge now, but there must be dozens. There cannot be many wholly "safe" cards, in fact. I'm pretty sure my arse is twitching, though.
I really rather liked the River, in fact - another 3. NUTS!
Now, I know it was a shocker of a pre-flop Call by me.
And I think - think - my flop Re-Raise was ill-advised, because I can't be favourite here, surely? I'd hoped they'd all Pass, but that went wrong.
What would you do on that Flop, given the Action in front of you?
OK, it's the best hand right now, but given the likely range of holdings round the table, flushes, straghts, maybe lows, what were the chances of this hand scooping the lot? Slim I'd have thought, but if any of you maths boys know the answer, I'd be curious to know.
Thanks.
