I always think, what's a bloke like me doing in a place like this?

Polish people don't smile.

In the UK and most other countries I've been to, if you smile at someone, they will almost invariably smile back. Not so the Poles. They just stare at you in what seems like an aggressive manner. It's quite disconcerting at first, but if doesn't seem to actually mean anything. As soon as you interact with them they are as friendly and helpful as anyone else.

Polish people do indoor stuff outdoors when they can.

Here are is a mother and baby (and no doubt dragged along dad) group and a knitting group.

Isn't it great when you discover that you haven't seen seen an all-time classic movie that you thought you had seen?

AGreed, what did you watch ?

This.

Can't believe I haven't seen it before.

Couple of great one liners in Heat
Don’t have anything in your life you can’t walk out on if the heat is around the corner .
Told to quit as he was wealthy enough Michael’s cherritos reply
For me the job is the juice
As in the buzz from their exploits was more exciting than life itself
The bank robbery is still one of the best imo

The trouble is, there is no way of knowing which films you think you've seen but haven't.

I bet we all have a few.

I remember seeing Heat at the cinema when it was released in 1995. It was the first night out the wife and I had after the birth of our daughter. Great film and recently re-watched it.

Too late now. You need to watch stuff like that when you are a child.

All this bullying about hairstyles is a bit OTT IMO.

(OK, it was only tikay doing the verbals but I know others were laughing)

(I wouldn't care, but it's not as if his follicles haven't heard the old, "Halt! Who goes there?)

Anyway... (I must learn to write without continually digressing. One day they will do away with brackets and then I'll be fecked)

Anyway, It made me think of an old rhyme, although where and by whom I heard it I cant remember.

I used to part my hair down the middle she said it was too severe.
So off I went and parted it across from ear to ear.
"How do you like my new hairstyle dear?" I asked my Irish Rose.
"Oh darling it looks wonderful." She whispered up my nose.

OK, let's be nice to Tom, & suggest he fixes his hair like this young lady.

She's the Deputy Chief Constable of Derbyshire Constabulary, & has been appearing on TV regularly giving updates on the Dam problem in Whaley Bridge. I think it's actually rather lovely, & a pleasant change to see a senior Police Officer with a touch of hair attitude.
