“With or without religion,
you would have good people doing good things
and evil people doing evil things.
But for good people to do evil things,
that takes religion.”
—Steven Weinberg, US physicist (1933 - )
The holy books mentioned are not a guide for morality, that comes from somewhere else (imo).

Where did I say all good comes from religion?
Good comes from people (in this context), some good people use religion.
I did not say 'All' good people use religion.
Btw, I am not religious, or particularly good.

?
This is cultural - not religious. A lot of misconceptions are born out of a cultural 'moral' standard rather than religious.
Where I live there is a HUGE cultural thing going on .... it's a very nosey society, everyone has this need to know everyone's business. As for shunning, well it happens, all too frequently. Honor killings still happen but again I stress this is a cultural thing and NOT religious (mixed religion marriages are allowed as long as the other religion is 'of the book' however the 'community' choose to ignore this part of the teachings).
Like a lot of religious zealouts - teachings are taken out of context and 'shortened' to fit the situation/sermon being given.

That's a neat soundbite, but it's not true.

I've become quite friendly with one or two Rastas at DTD. I don't know if it is part of their faith, but they are really respectful toward other peeps, always a nice handshake and greeting etc.
Just their personality i'd guess Red,same as all race and religions, good and bad everywhere.
Reason i know this is i was once chased by a rastafarian outside Cold Blow Lane ( Millwall's old ground ) and he wasn't very nice, wanted to stab me he did!
Not every black guy with dreadlocks is a Rasta.
What social groupage would these come under then?
The "blokes with long hair" groupage of course
