gr8 read red. the line about cross between Gynaecologists and Quasimodo actually had me  properly laugh out loudl. any advice on longnetting? managed to get hold of a decent one other day at a car boot (previous one was in tatters) after i was convinced by a farmer freind to get out there before they start breeding. thing is i have next to no experience. I assume its setup daytime with gloves on and you attempt to operate a trigger-drop mechanism at night then walk the field but am unsure. be grateful for any tips u could give. speak soon, al

You basically said everything in your post Alex. It's all down to experience.

Keep the noise down and pay attention to the direction of the wind when setting you net.

Be particular about placement, try to find the optimum spot between burrrows and feeding grounds where the rabbits will be moving fast.

Do everything you can to ensure a fuss free drop. (Those electric fence poles make great net supports)

Make some noise and move quickly when you start your drive. A lamp is useful.

Because of the way a rabbit's eyes are positioned, they can see behind while facing forward, and imo a lamp gives them a focal point. It's better if they are concentrating on what's behind them rather than what's in front.
